Part 14

Boy stop playing.

It's been months, and I find myself spending the night with James at least three times a week, and he spends the other three times a week in my bed, only he makes sure he's gone before the twins wake up. On the seventh day we both rested.

EJ came down to the home gym and he asked me when we are going to stop playing house, he sees James leaving here early in the morning, what are we waiting for to get back together.

I asked him does everyone in the family know that James spends the night with me once in a while, EJ said three times a week isn't once in a while and if I'm asking him if grandfather knows, I know the answer to that, grandfather knows what's going on around here.

 I told him I just want to be sure, he asked me how's therapy going for the both of us, I told him talking to a therapist makes me feel like a new person, I had a lot of issues myself. And that's been helping me forgive James, because I had to forgive myself for the things I've done, I had to remember how spoiled I was in our marriage, James always gave in to me, I never saw how he really felt about things.

EJ said we're Alexanders we're spoiled, and our wealth doesn't help, we're used to getting what we want. I told EJ, James was the only man I had to fight to get, the rest weren't worth the fight, he said listen to myself he doesn't know why we're not really back together that's what I want isn't it. I told him more than anything, and there's no buts about it.

 EJ said I'm silly, if I forgave James one of us needs to propose and move on, I told him since James messed up, he should be the one to propose to me, he shook his head and said stop with the games and propose to James he left. EJ is right it doesn't matter who proposes, I called the family jeweler and told him to bring over the best male engagement rings, money is no object he said he can be here within the hour, I hung up and finished working out.

My phone rang the caller I.D said JL, I took the call and said morning babe, James told me good morning as well, he said the twins woke him up early to get in the gym and workout with them. I told him that's what I'm doing right now, he said hold on two little people want to say good morning to me. The twins got on the phone and said good morning daddy, am I coming over and swim with them, I told them I'll be over later I have something to do and then I'll come over, PJ said bring Bandit's play toy when I come, I told him I will.

I can hear PJ telling James to talk to me while he works out, James got back on the phone, he said since CJ is older his eyes are on females, and he told the twins they can keep Bandit for good, I said it seems like yesterday that CJ was the twins age and now he's looking at girls.

I heard Chandler telling James to come workout with them, I told James I'll come over later, and I love him, he said he never stopped loving me and hung up.

After talking to Pie, Manny and CJ came into the workout room, CJ went over to the twins, Manny said CJ is at the age where he's into his hygiene, he's always taking showers, I just laughed, Manny asked me what's so funny about that. I told him just think back when he started taking all those showers, Manny said wow he didn't think of that it's time he had the talk with CJ, Jamie told him CJ was on the phone talking to a girl and when he stood up the boy really stood up, I said welcome to fatherhood.

I told him to finish working out with the twins for me I have to make a run, he asked me where I am going in such a hurry, I told him I'm going to get an engagement ring it's time I propose to Pie don't say anything to the twins they'll tell him, Manny told me it's about time. I left the room and went upstairs and took a quick shower, after that I got dressed and headed to the Alexanders jeweler, he always has the best rings. I got there and found the perfect ring for Pie only he wouldn't sell it to me, he said that's for a special client.

I told him he knows me I can afford it, I even through in the Alexander name, he said he can't sell me that ring, but he has others, I told him it has to be that one, I said if he tells me who his client is maybe I can get him to buy another ring, he said he can't do that. I told him if his client doesn't buy it give me a call, I gave him my card and left.

I walked down and got flowers and I'll tell Pie we can go shopping for a special ring later, I was thinking about taking Pie out to dinner and propose to him, but without that ring I don't want to do that. I called Dyland and told him what I'm going to do, he said it's about time, they'll come over this afternoon, I told him thanks and hung up.

I went back to the house and the boys were outback playing with CJ, Liz said oh I brought her flowers, I told her there for Pie, I'll get her some next time, she said speaking of flowers she heard CJ asking some girl what kind of flowers does she like, Manny better keep an eye on that boy or he'll be a young father like he was. I told her Manny will have a good talk with CJ, someday we'll have to have that talk with the twins. She said no offense to us, but the boys need a female in their lives, and she doesn't mean that crazy Savannah woman either.

I told her they have Pie's mom and all the females in the Alexander family, and they have her, she said I got that right, she'll put the broom on all of them like she did Manny when he got out of pocket, I told her she knows Manny was a good kid. I told Liz I'm going to propose to Pie later today, she said I act like it's a big deal, we've been married before. I told her I'd thought she'd be happy for us, she said she is, but it's no big deal, Pierre spends the night here enough and she found his underwear under my bed so there's nothing new around here, she went back to the kitchen.

 I checked the mail, there was nothing important so I walked in the kitchen and heard Liz on the phone telling someone we're getting married again, she couldn't be happier for us, that Liz is something else. I heard Dyland's voice saying where is everyone, Liz turned around and saw me, she told whoever she was talking to she'll call them back. She told Dyland to act like he has some home training and stop all that hollering, we're in the kitchen. Dyland and EJ came into the kitchen, I said I thought they weren't coming to later, EJ said I know how Dyland is always late for something, so he made him come now. EJ said Jamie was pulling in right behind them it looks like all of the family is here, I said not yet Pie is coming any minute now.

Jamie and Pie came into the kitchen, Pie said wow the family is here, he asked Jamie to get everyone in here he has something to tell the family, I looked at Pie, everyone came in and Pie said he's been thinking long and hard about this and it concerns all of us. I figured I'd better give Pie his flowers now and just propose I hope he doesn't say no. I gave him the flowers he said he has something for me as well, I started to get down on one knee, Pie said wait was I going to propose to him, I told him yes, but I don't have a ring, I tried to buy one but the jeweler wouldn't sell it to me he said he had a special client who wanted that ring, but if he says yes we can go ring shopping. Pie said no need for that, oh God he doesn't want to marry me.

I got down on one knee, James asked me what I am doing, I told him I'm proposing to him, and I know he tried to buy the ring the jeweler told me, James Lattimore will you marry me again, he said yes. I put the ring on his finger, I got up and kissed him, the twins said at the same time does that mean they can live here again. I told them yes, we'll be a family under the same roof, everyone congratulated us, Liz said she knew it would happen more drawers for her to wash around here.

 She'll get some champagne and grape juice for the twins, CJ said he wants some champagne too, she told him he thinks he's grown talking to those fast girls, no champagne for him he gets juice like the rest of the kids around here. Liz got the drinks and Dyland made a toast to our happiness, I felt like crying to get a second chance at love with the same person again, I love my family so much.
