“Today’s goal: survive the day without looking at Kim Taehyung.”
I repeated it in my head like a mantra as I power-walked through the campus hallway.
“Avoid. Ignore. Resist the devilishly handsome creep. Easy, right?”

Wrong.

Because the universe has a twisted sense of humor.

I smacked straight into someone—no, into a wall of muscle. A solid chest that didn’t budge an inch. I stumbled back, rubbing my forehead.

“Ouch! I’m so sorry—” I began, but then I froze.

Nothing.

Not a single flash. Not a flicker of emotion. Just… a hollow void.
How? I had touched him. My ability always worked through touch. I could feel memories, emotions—entire pasts.
But with him… there was nothing.

My eyes snapped up to meet his.

And holy hell.
I almost forgot how to breathe.
God, he’s beautiful. How is that even legal? First Taehyung, and now this guy? What is this college, a modeling agency?

I was staring for too long, he snapped his fingers in front of my face.

He raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed.

Then he said, “You look like a creep.”

I blinked. Excuse me?
Flustered, I dropped my gaze and muttered something about being in a hurry, then bolted past him like the building was on fire.

“She’s the one,” Taehyung said, stepping beside the guy I just ran from.

“She’s cute,” Jungkook replied, eyes still fixed on the hallway I disappeared into. “And her scent… it’s driving me insane.”

“Yeah. It’s... irresistible,” Taehyung said through clenched teeth. “But I can’t read her mind. At all. And that’s infuriating.”

Jungkook’s eyes widened. “Wait—you can’t read her mind? Damn. That explains why I couldn’t either. I was too busy staring at her face to realize.”
He gave a sheepish smile.

“Tch. You’re always distracted by pretty faces,” Taehyung scoffed, rolling his eyes.

Back in class, I was still shaken. My heart was racing.

“Hey! Girl, why are you running like that?”
Yumi blinked at me with a confused look as I nearly crashed into her.

Without thinking, I grabbed her hand.

A wave of emotion hit me instantly—warmth, excitement, her little crush on Namjoon… everything. My power was working perfectly fine.

So then… why couldn’t I feel anything from that guy?

I was so lost in thought that I didn’t realize Yumi was waving her hand in front of my face.

“You okay?” she asked, brows furrowed.

“Yeah! Totally fine,” I lied, forcing a smile. “Just… testing my speed. You know, seeing how fast I can get to class.”

She gave me a weird look, then shrugged.
“Whatever, weirdo.”

Little did I know... I wasn’t the only one trying to figure out what the hell just happened. Taehyung and Jungkook were equally puzzled.

Later...
Finally.
My first class ended, and not a moment too soon. The professor’s voice had the emotional range of a robot reading bedtime stories. I stifled a yawn as I dragged myself toward the next class.
