“Hey shorty!” Taehyung’s voice chimed the moment I stepped into the college building, right before I felt a sharp flick on my forehead.
“Yaah! That hurts,” I hissed, rubbing the spot he’d just assaulted with a pout.
“Morning, little Wolfie,” Jungkook grinned, pressing a soft kiss to my cheek as he draped his arm around my neck with ease—like he owned the right to be that close.
And just like that, the image of his lips on mine from yesterday flashed behind my eyes.
That kiss.
My ears turned hot, my cheeks flared red, and I cursed my traitorous memory for replaying it so vividly.
This rabbit-teeth vampire seriously needs a crash course in personal space. I sighed dramatically and walked off toward my class, ignoring the flutter in my chest.
---
Later, in class…
“Stop it! You both,” I hissed under my breath, glaring at Taehyung and Jungkook. “I can’t concentrate on the lecture.”
But the glare didn’t last long—because Taehyung cracked another joke under his breath, and I couldn’t help but let out a chuckle.
“See? You laughed too,” Jungkook giggled beside me.
“Shh! Keep quiet or the professor will hear us. You know what’ll happen afterward.”
Of course, they didn’t stop.
One after another, they kept whispering ridiculous jokes, their faces comically serious. I tried—really tried—not to burst into laughter. But then Taehyung delivered a jest with the most deadpan expression I’d ever seen.
“Bahahaha—Taehyung, your face! You look so funny!” I wheezed, playfully hitting his shoulder, the corners of my eyes tearing up from holding back laughter.
And then—
“What’s so funny, Miss Park Y/n?” came a stern voice from the front of the class.
My laughter died in my throat as I slowly turned my head. The professor stood there, arms crossed over his chest, expression unreadable.
“You’re dead, Y/n,” I muttered under my breath, glancing at Taehyung and Jungkook—who now had the audacity to sit there with the most innocent faces, like they hadn't just been the chaos in human form.
“I asked you something, Miss Park. What’s so funny? Come on, share with the class. Maybe the students would appreciate some comic relief after a half-hour lecture,” the professor added, tone sharp and dry.
“Uh—th-th-that—I’m sorry, sir.” My voice barely escaped as I dropped my gaze in shame.
“Get out,” he said flatly.
“Huh?”
“I said, get out, Miss Park. And two hours’ detention after college.”
His voice rose with finality, making everyone in the room wince in secondhand embarrassment.
I sighed in defeat, stood up, and walked toward the door—making sure to shoot both of those traitors my deadliest glare on the way out.
---
Those fucking vampires.
Because of them, I had to endure a two-hour detention with the rudest professor in the entire college.
Wow. Just wow.
Frustration bubbled inside me as I kicked the nearest wall.
“Ouch! My leg—oh mother!” I hissed, grabbing my shin as the pain shot up like lightning.
“Tch tch, such a weak wolf.”
