"Something just didn't feel right..." Lily said as she sat with Jennifer and Owen at the Mosasaurus tank on some of the benches before the attraction was open to the public. "Why the sudden interest in the raptor and T-Rex hunting capabilities?"

Owen shrugged. "I doubt they plan on letting them run loose around here to hunt."

"Maybe it was nothing Lily. We were with some weird people." she said. "Just look at Owen."

"Yeah just look at m- Hey!"

Lily smiled. "Alright, perhaps I was just being paranoid." she said "But Mr. Masrani keeps avoiding my discussion on those babies in the hatchery."

"Well, let's go take your mind off of it for now." Owen said offering his hand.

The raptors were in restraints and halters when Lily and Owen arrived.

"They look so thrilled to see us." Lily said flatly as they approached. Blue was growling baring her teeth.

"Right, not going near you." she said before walking over to Echo. "There you are." she said gently. Echo watched intently as she neared squirming slightly in her halter.

"May I?" she asked lifting her hand.

"Well, she can't do anything about it, but I'd let her sniff you first." Owen told her. Lily offered her hand keeping it low for Echo to see and smell. Echo remained still as her other hand touched lightly to the space in between her eyes. During the entire time, she kept her head slightly turned away to make no direct eye contact with Echo.

"There, there...no need to be so worked up." she whispered to Echo. She trailed over the scar on her face. Echo's eyes closed for a brief moment.

Blue chirped loudly causing the others to chirp as well.

"How are you doing that?" Owen asked her. "Echo is normally never this calm."

"I'm not doing anything." Lily said. "I'm not a threat to her right now. I'm not challenging her, no direct eye contact, I'm standing to her side so she can see me...she's just relaxed right now. I'm calm and she can probably sense that right now through my touch. There's no threat, why should be riled up, it would just be a waste of energy."

"It's kinda like that shark thing, touch a shark on the nose and they're like a toy." he said.

"Well, that's a bit different. A shark breathes when it's moving, it's the only way to get oxygen through it's gills. When you stop them, they're not getting enough oxygen to their brains and thus their body is just basically shutting down partially."

"Oh good, all this time I thought it was pretty adorable, turns out the sharks were in mini comas."

She giggled before removing her hand.

"Try it Delta." she said. "She seems rather upset right now because she's not getting any attention."

He walked over to Delta and copied Lily. Delta seemed to enter a dreamy stupor. He turned to her with a grin.

"You sure you don't want to be a raptor tamer?" he asked.

She shook her head quickly. "They're in restraints right now. You wouldn't find me being this brave otherwise." she said. "The most I've dealt with carnivores is with bones, you know? I'm not a raptor expert by any means." she replied humbly.

"You sure know a lot though."

"Well, I often attended lectures and conferences when I could. I got to meet Dr. Alan Grant once, even though it was briefly."
