Lily climbed out of the twisted metal death trap gritting her teeth from all the pain that was channeling through her body. She placed her chest and stomach on the door and rolled off landing on the grassy ground with a thud. She hit her head causing her to yelp and groan in pain. She laid there for a few minutes attempting to gain some strength and fight through the pain. She looked over to see Todd on the ground. She reached an arm forward.
"Todd." she nudged him. "Todd?"
She had assisted him out of the car when she first woke up as she found his body contorted on her. She dragged herself over to him using her upper body to pull her legs over.
"Todd?" her voice cracked as she shook him again. "Come on, wake up." she said.
Todd's body was motionless. "Please Todd, you can't do this to me." She rolled him slightly only to see that his neck had been snapped. She covered her mouth quickly to keep herself from screaming out at the dead body before her.
The only other dead body she had ever witnessed in life was her father's mother, Nan, who looked so much more peaceful in her casket than Todd did with bloody and bruised body.
"I'm sorry, Todd. I'm so sorry." she cried into his shirt.
She laid there in a stupor unsure of what to do. She could only hear Winston's warning in her head to get off the island. Regret filled her chest, she had some part in this without even realizing it.
She finally pushed herself up shakily to her feet. Her ankle was screaming but she kept pushing herself back to the destroyed vehicle. She opened it up and grabbed her radio only to find it smashed it from the crash.
"Dammit!"
Then she heard interference and muffled voices in the car. Todd's radio. She climbed in and searched for it frantically until she found it tossed in the back seat.
She grabbed it and slammed her thumb down on the button. "Hello!?" she called into it. "Hello?! Can anyone hear me?"
She didn't get an answer. She could feel the hot tears stream down her face as she broke down falling out of the car with the radio beside her. Her ankle was turning a dark purple along with all the other bruises covering her body. Her forehead stung from the cut she received before they were tossed over the cliff.
Her hair was matted in blood, her clothes were ripped, as she sat there in defeat looking over at Todd's still body.
She grabbed the radio again. "Please, someone help!" she yelled angrily into the radio.
"Lily?!"
Jennifer was sitting with Lowery who was attempting to comfort her after she had lost her best friend. People including workers were evacuating the island currently.
"I can still hear her." Jennifer said softly.
"I know, I think I can hear her too." Lowery said sadly.
"It's understandable with loss-" Vivian began.
"No,' Lowery said, "I can actually hear her."
He stood up and pulled his radio out of his pocket turning it up louder.
"Please, someone help!" Lily's voice yelled through the radio. Jennifer jumped up.
"Lily!" she screamed into it.
"Jennifer! Oh thank goodness."
"Lily, where are you guys? Are you okay?"
"No, we're not okay. Todd's dead."
