Chapter Fifty One: Been Trapped In This Loop For Three Years
S2Episode 5: Latkes Are Lit
"Marcus." Georgia said with a smile. "Can I come in?" Marcus asks. "Now, I don't want you to panic, but this big frame right here is a door. You walk through it. I know you're not used to that. You usually just shimmy right on up the drainpipe. It's not a secret portal. It won't teleport you to yesterday, on loop, on repeat, until you break the cycle. It's not magic. It's not a trap, not a trick. Just a door." Georgia says prompting Dallas to raise a brow.
"I am quite enjoying this." Paul said as Dallas nods. "Come on." Georgia said, letting him in. "Hey, buddy, good to see you again. Um..Do we need a house-rules refresher?" Paul asks, shaking his hand. "Rules? Rules when?" Dallas asks. "I knew you were gonna shake my hand. Been trapped in this loop for three years." Marcus spoke. "Maybe we shouldn't encourage them. Come on." Dallas said, walking him to her room.
"Hey" Dallas says, plopping on her bed. "Hey." Marcus spoke. "You've been looking down. What's up?" Dallas asks. "I've learned something..About someone." Marcus says. Dallas raises a brow. "About who?" Dallas questions, sitting up. "About you." Marcus spoke. "Oh no. It must be something devious." Dallas said sarcastically. "It is." Marcus responded making Dallas frown.
"Okay, seriously, tell me." Dallas spoke. "I've learned that you.." Marcus starts before fisting his hand and motioning them in a stabbing motion. Dallas's eyebrows furrowed before she finally got it. "Oh my God.. Who told you that? Marcus, who." Dallas said, getting off her bed. "Dallas." Marcus called. "When did you learn this? How long have you've known? Have you been pretending?" Dallas questions.
"Mae, please. I've known since before my birthday." Marcus says, sitting down. Dallas's eyes widen. "And I wasn't pretending. I know you did it to save your life and shit." Marcus mumbles. Dallas crashes on her bed, her breath heaving. "I don't understand how you can still look at me. I've done something so horrible. I've removed someones live for my own. It's my fault and I'm paying the consequences." Dallas says. Marcus takes her hand. "Slowly I'll chase everyone away and end up somewhere isolated." Dallas mumbles.
"Who told you, Marcus?" Dallas asks. "It's not important." Marcus asks. "Is it someone I know? This can't get out." Dallas says. "They won't tell, Dallas." Marcus said. Dallas let out a shaky breath. "I don't like this. I feel bare." Dallas says. "Hey, at least we're both bare." Marcus says, weakly smiling at her. "My bare is not your bare, Aubrey." Dallas spoke. "Bare is bare." Marcus shrugs.
