"Merlin! Wait up!" Hans yelled running.
I let out a breath.
"Are you sure you don't want to stop to buy anything?" Hans asks.
"No. She's too perfect." I say.
"But you have to get her one more gift! It's Valentines!" Hans says.
"I know. I know. But... we're not like that." I say.
"Merlin he's right you have to woo her." Jack says.
"Guys, guys, guys. Trust me on this." I say.
Hans buys something else.
"I think you have enough ingredients." I point out.
"I wish. She eats like a horse but she's as beautiful as a white mare." Hans smiles.
I nod.
"Oi Merlin, did you hear there's a festival going on tonight?" Arthur asks.
"No." I shake my head.
"It's about the war." Arthur says.
A jolt bursts through me. I turn to him.
"On Valentines?" I ask.
"Yeah, everyone's going." Hans smiles.
"You know, the war with the demons and how we crushed them?" Arthur says.
"Yeah... uh... I don't think Snow White would like all the lights and the gore." I point out.
The war. Time and time again I hear those words. Some people don't understand. Actually no one understands. How could they? No one understands the war. The lives that were lost. The blood that was spilled. The bodies. The curse. Especially the curse. No one understands how dangerous the curse was.
"Ah, well we'll miss you." Arthur says.
"Trust me, you don't want me there." I say.
