Who's Shawn?

Camila swallowed hard, staring at the two in disbelief. They looked genuinely confused once she explained—through the phone of course—that Shawn Mendes was a famous musician, Jack helped Camila and him get together, but Shawn turned out to be someone who faked his love for her because Camila was Nicole's sister and he loved her.

They were looking at her like she was crazy. Which she probably was in their eyes. The doctor was even listening and he was confused because that's not what happened when they brought her in.

"Cam, I think - I think in your coma, it was your safe place. Your safe place from reality and that's why you kept refusing to wake up. The dreams you had were altering what really happened in your mind. You just wanted to escape what happened in your life, so it went to the moment you sister left your house, to when she came back and when you were walking home and got shot."

"Yeah Mila. There was no Nicholas or whatever that guy's name was. There was no Shawn Mendes or Nicole getting tortured. But Zayn and Gigi are close friends of ours, they got married. You got shot while walking back to the house when Zayn and Gigi came for a visit." Jack explained but Camila kept denying it because it's not possible.

Shawn does exist. He can't just vanish. He wouldn't leave her like this. Yeah, he wouldn't. He's probably just standing outside, waiting for her to cry and then run in saying it's just a prank. Yeah. That's it.

To prove them wrong that Shawn does exist, Camila scrolled through Nicole's phone to find Instagram. Opening up the app and hastily searching up the username "Shawnmendes" she came across a page that didn't have 50 million followers. Instead, this was a guy that was named, Shawn Parker Mendes. He had 3 million followers though.

Dropping the phone in her lap, reality actually hit Camila hard and tears fell down. Shawn Mendes, the one that she loved despite everything, the one that was her everything, was just someone Camila's mind created to feel safe and happy. Because really, everything Jack and Nicole were saying about them leaving to Canada for a year without telling her was true.

Camila's mind just created Shawn to feel happy because she was lonely without her sister and her husband.

Shawn Mendes was just a dream.
