TW: violence (fairly graphic and bloody)

"Who's there!?" I call out, creating a shield around me in case of sudden ambush.

I can't keep this up forever; if somebody doesn't snap me out of my headache I'm going to pass out.

The angel...

No, I'm not going to let them take control over me again, no matter how much power that thing would lend me.

"Funny you should ask." A raspy voice whispers from the shadows. "You should be able to sense us, with that extraordinary power of yours ... eh, Longthorpe?"

I can see him now; light hair with striking violet streaks, skin greying due to the curse put upon him. He has plenty of supporters and I can't keep my attention on all of them at once.

"Or whatever you go by now..." the voice continues to leer. I've had enough of his cowardice and blast three feet away from me at the earth.

From the hole sprouts a blue-black vine with sickeningly death-pale flowers, which I take care to stay away from despite my probable immunity.

And intertwined with the branches is the man I saw in my vision, glaring at me with eyes like abysses; eyes darker than the darkest charcoal;

the eyes of a Voidblood.

"State your purpose." I command, sending some adrenalin through my veins to nullify the ache: I cannot afford to be distracted. I begin setting up a string trap.

"We're here to rid the world of its wishy-washy leaders." One of his subordinates floats into the air upon a ghastly spirit - a dead soul harnessed for evil. "All their talk about peace and goodness..."

"And-"

A prophecy flashes in front of me; I create a platform of stone and grab onto a ledge, temporarily blessing myself with inhuman strength to pull myself on as the earth crumbles away beneath my feet.

"-you, an Adroite, should know. Fairness and equality, whilst stimultaneously leaving millions of the Menias destitute, spreading lies about them." a second subordinate rises from beneath. "Doesn't the death and destruction make you want to avenge against the Land of Rainbows, so poorly named?"

"Well-" I quickly summon vines that wrap around the leader as he reforms in front of my face. A single glare melts his blade into burning liquid.

"You know which side to join, don't you?" he whispers, smiling manically. "Trying to hide and conceal and being forced to deceive everyone remotely close to you, simply to survive in this world ... you are being ruled by the gold-eyed ... I see you have already awakened your angel. And yet you know that they would have you guillotined without mercy. Does it not make your blood boil?"

Something is burning, burning inside...

"You're the one making my blood boil right now." I snap back at him.

"Perhaps ... is it the other-"

Before this stranger can complete his sentence, I slash at him with an air blade before putting up a force field that repels any incoming attacks.

My caution is rewarded when I see an arrow bounce off and whizz dangerously close to a bandit's ear, who curses at me. I feel a slash to my right coming, but can't parry fully in time and a gash appears on my right arm.

Let me loose.

"Really, now?" This man laughs. "Is this all you've-"

He is cut off by me striking through his shoulder with a ball of electricity, before I teleport two others behind me fifty feet into the air.
