"What do you mean you couldn't stop the contractions?!" Karen shouted at one of the nurses.

"W-we've been trying for the past three hours but that baby is coming today." The nurse quivered under Karen's stare.

Karen threw back the curtain that JJ and Spencer were behind. JJ was laying in the bed in a hospital gown clutching onto Spencer's arm for dear life as she cried. "Alright JJ," Karen said as she walked in. "Your daughter is coming today, there is no way around that."

Spencer's eyes widened. "She's only twenty five weeks along! That isn't safe!" Heading this made JJ cry even more.

"Spencer stressing her out more will not help!" Karen spoke sternly. "Babies born before twenty eight weeks but after twenty four are likely to survive. We hope because how healthy you are that this little guy is going to be okay... But their are some disabilities to look out for..."

"What are they?" JJ whispered through her tears. Another contraction pushed through making JJ scream out.

"You really shouldn't be worrying about tho-"

But JJ cut her off. "WHAT ARE THE RISKS! DAMMIT KAREN TELL ME!"

It was definitely scary for the midwife to see the usually shy and quiet JJ turn into the devil. Karen looked at the young couple and sighed, "fifty percent get cerebral palsy, ten will suffer from epilepsy, five from a learning disability, and thirty five will be completely okay..."

Both Spencer and Karen held their breath to see how JJ was going to react... "But... But she'll live right?" The blonde asked.

"Yes she will." Karen couldn't help but smile.

"W-will I get to hold her too?" She asked the tears beginning to flow again.

Karen rested her hand on JJ's leg. "Of course you will!"

JJ let out another scream as a contraction hit again. "How much longer?!"

Karen went and measured JJ cervix. "You're four centimetres dilated, you need to be ten."

"Is there anything else we'll need to know?" Spencer piped in after JJ calmed down.

"We will give you a steroid in a minute to help mature your daughters lungs, there is no reason to believe you won't have a vaginal birth, and she will most likely be in the NICU for at least a month or so... But you will most likely be able to visit her, hold her, change her diaper, and feed her."

JJ nodded her head and grabbed Spencer's hand squeezing it tight as the next contraction hit. "Why are they so freaking close together!?"

"Let me get you that steroid and I'll give you another check over." Karen left leaving Spencer and JJ alone in the curtain make shift room.

"I love you, you know that right? And I am proud of you! You are being so strong and it just makes me love you more!" Her husband said.

"Spencer?" JJ smiled through her tears.

"Yeah?"

"Shut up!" She whined kissing his hand which was intwined in hers.
