The Perfect Two

Eighteen week pregnant JJ walked out of the grocery store carrying a bag of cheese, carrots and peanut butter. She was heading to meet Spencer across the street at the bookstore when suddenly she felt a slight cramping, ignoring it she continued to walk until she felt a liquid slipping down her leg. She looked down to find blood trickling down her leg from under her dress, breaking out into the run she ran into bookstore screaming for Spencer.

"JJ! JJ! What's wrong?!" He rushed up to her grabbing her arms to keep her standing.

"W-we need to go to the hospital..." She panted trying to catch her breath.

Spencer guided JJ to the passenger seat of his car then he threw the bag of food into the back seat before diving into the front and drying off to the hospital.

Once they made it to the hospital they were quickly sent into the ER and not two minutes later a nurse was in taking JJ's vitals. Lucky for them their midwife Karen was at the hospital that day meeting for a conference.

Karen walked in with the ultrasound machine, she pulled the blanket up to JJ's hips before pulling her dress up to reveal her stomach. Moving the wand around Karen smiled, next she flicked a switch and the room was filled with a rapid heartbeat. "You're baby is still hear JJ." Karen smiled showing the parents the outline of their child.

JJ let out a sigh of relief and started to cry while Spencer kissed her forehead whispering reassuring words.

"You just had some spotting JJ, and it's completely normal. Your body a fifty percent more blood in it and it needs to come out somehow, it ended only after a minute or two and you had no severe cramping. Now if its excessive blood loss, or severe abdominal pain come in right away and call me alright." JJ was still crying but managed to nod her head. "Good, now I want you to finish crying this out and go home and take a nice long hot bath. No bubbles or salts though, maybe eat watermelon and peanut butter?"

"T-thank you Karen." Spencer choked out holding JJ's hand.

Karen left the two to recuperate themselves before having the, sign the discharge papers.

"I'm a terrible mother!" JJ sobbed pulling Spencer closer to hold him. Spencer just patted her back letting her release all her built up stress.
