"Spencer!" Diana called from across game room, she stood from her large brown chair to make her way over to hug her son. "How are you doing?"

"I'm great mom." Spencer replied. "Come sit, there's something I need to tell you."

Diana obligated and made her way to an empty game table, by random lunch a game of Scrabble was set up. The two spent time in silence playing the game until Diana spoke up. "So what do you need to tell me dear?"

Spencer swallowed his suddenly dry mouth. "JJ isn't here because she's at the hospital." Diana's face changed to worry causing Spencer to talk faster. "She's not in the hospital mom, she's just visiting... She... Um... She had... She had a baby the other day..." He managed to stutter out.

"A... A baby?" Diana asked. "Your baby?"

Spencer nodded his head, "yeah... She was born fifteen weeks early. That's why I couldn't bring her today... She's intubated right now and the doctors say she'll be in the pre natal intensive care unit for at least a month." Spencer said as he places letters in the bored building a word. "Her name is Emma Rosaline Reid."

"She took your name?" Diana asked looking over her letters.

"Well she took mine and JJ's name... We got married a few weeks ago..."

Diana nodded her head at her son. "I'm glad you did the right thing."

"You're mot mad I didn't tell you?"

"Why would I be mad? You did the right thing, and I'm a grandmother while I can still remember my granddaughters name! That's a great thing Spencer! You're an adult now, you can make your own decisions."

Spencer felt tears sting his eyes, happy tears. He was afraid of disappointing his mother... "I can send you pictures of her in a few days if you'd like?"

A smile spread across his mothers face. "I would love that Spencer."
