"Excuse me Mr. Reid." A shirt red headed nurse tapped Spencer's shoulder to wake him up. "Your in laws are here." She whispered careful not to wake JJ up.

"In laws?" He grumbled wiping his eyes.

"Your wife's parents are in the waiting room and they've requested to see you." Spencer lifted JJ's body up gently so he could slid out from under her. He laid her down against the hospital bed and walked out of the room behind the nurse.

"Ma'am your daughter and granddaughter are suing very well given the circumstances-" A frustrated nurse tried to reason with Sandy Jareau.

"I have no idea what you are talking about! Jennifer is not expecting!" Sandy yelled in anger, no one seemed to be listening they were all confused.

Spencer rounded the corner into view of the Jareau family, Gillian, Andy, Max, and Sandy were all in the waiting room trying to figure out what was going on. "Spencey?" Gillian spoke up when she saw him enter the room.

"Oh Spencer thank goodness!" Sandy rushed over to the son in law she didn't know she had. "This nurse is trying to tell me Jennifer just had a baby!"

Spencer's eyes wandered to his feet with a sullen look on his face. "Sandy-" he whispered.

He was interrupted by a sharp pain to his cheek and a hard smack was echoed around the room causing everyone to quiet down and turned to look at the older woman and the young man. "Spencer Reid how dare you!" She bellowed. "I trusted you! We trusted you with our daughter!"

Spencer held his hand over his throbbing cheek. "I'm not going to apologize Sandy. I love your daughter and I know she loves me. She just went through nine hours of hell to bring our daughter into this world fifteen weeks early and that just makes me love her more. So you can come with me and go see JJ, or you can sit here refusing to believe you're a grandmother." Spencer turned to walk back through the door. He stopped mid step to look behind him at Max and Gillian. "Are you guys coming?"

Gillian rose from her seat followed by Max. "Are you coming dad?" The Jareau son asked his father.

"In a minute, I'm going to sit with your mother for a while." Andy replied.

The three walked back into the room and they slipped behind JJ's curtain. She was awake now sitting up on the bed with a tray of untouched food in front of her. "Hi guys. She tried her best to smile but was far to tired. "The nurses are making me eat before I can see her." she sighed.

"You haven't seen her yet?" Gillian asked.

"Not yet." Spencer replied lifting the youngest Jareau up to sit on the end on the hospital bed. "They took her to get checked out right away."

"Did you name her yet?" Max asked.

JJ shook her head as she took a bite of her turkey sandwich. "We ran into a few complications along the way."

"If you don't mind I would like to know what the two of you have been up to these past few months." Mr. Jareau walked into curtained room, he ran his hand over his daughters hair and kissed her forehead. "How are you feeling princess?"

"I'm good dad, I just want to see her."

"I understand, but from what Spencer told me she was born very early. What happened?"

Spencer sighed running his face in his hands. "It was my fault, I should have been there faster."

"Don't say that Spence, I had gone to the store and on my way home some idiot ran the stop sign so Spence wanted to come pick me up. I waited for him and this mugger came up throwing me against the wall... The collision to my back, or the stress was just too much and they couldn't stop the contractions..."

"You were very brave." Andy replied with a smile. "So you two weren't going to tell us you were adding onto the family?"

"We-we were going to give her up for adoption... But I changed my mind about two hours ago." JJ blushed.

"Does the family know you changed your mind?" Karen asked walking in on the family reunion wheeling in NICU crib.

"Not yet, we were going to call in this afternoon." JJ replied. "Is that her?"

"Yes it is, I'm sorry about earlier but we needed to check her out and make sure she was all okay, we've found no reason to believe she has cerebral palsy."

"Can I hold her now?" JJ asked almost whining.

"Of course," Karen replied she moved the tray away from the bed and say JJ up. "Elevate her head and she may want to be fed soon. Bottle or breast?"

JJ looked up to Spencer who shrugged. "Breast I guess..."

"We can go over that in a bit, why don't you hold her for now and introduced her to your family?" Karen suggested lifting the Reid baby out of the crib.

Karen rested her in JJ's arms, the blonde instantly relaxed cradling the baby close to her. "Hi baby." JJ cooed. "This is daddy," JJ pointed out. "And that's aunt Gillian, uncle Max, and Grandpa!"

The baby was barley the size of a yearn of corn and only weighed two pounds. Her skin was pale and you could easily see see pink veins popping through. Her eyes were still delicate so they were covered with a white cloth blind fold and she had wires and tubes attached to her legs and feet.

"She's beautiful." Spencer smiled stroking his daughters arm, the infants arm reached out to cup her fathers finger and hold it as tight as a child could. "We should also mention while you're all here." Spencer smirked at his in laws. "JJ and I got married."
