Things just seemed to instantly go back to normal between the couple, it had been a while since JJ had gone to the clubs and Spencer was working hard to finished his class work during the week so they could have weekends together.

On Saturday morning two weeks later Spencer had come back from the McDonald's from down the street with two breakfast sandwiches and hash browns. As he walked into the bedroom he found JJ wide awake sitting upright in the bed watching the news on the television. "Why are you up?" He asked throwing the food bag on the bed then jumping into his side of the bed.

"I had a thought." JJ explained grabbing her sausage egg Mcmuffin from the bag and taking a large bite out of it. "What if we got a cat?" She asked.

Spencer took a bite of his breakfast as he gave JJ a weird look. "Why?"

"The house is just too quiet..." This made Spencer think for a minute, he remembered all the times Sandy had said that to the two of them every time the kids would go away leaving her and her husband alone in the house.

"Like we're missing something?" Spencer concluded.

JJ nodded her head ecstatically finishing off her sandwich. "Exactly! ...are you going to finish that?" She asked sheepishly pulling her best puppy dog eyes.

"Yes" Spencer laughed reaching into the bag pulling out her hash brown and handing it to her with a smile. A sudden thought popped into his head. "Do you want kids one day?" He asked.

JJ paused for a moment, "with you? Yeah... One day." She smiled. "...so... About that cat?"

Spencer laughed laying his head on the pillow. "We can get a cat."

JJ finished of the rest of her breakfast before flying out of bed to get dressed. Spencer smiled watching the 'show' as he finished his food.

Half an hour later the couple was walking down a unfamiliar street trying to find the local pet store. They walked hand in hand just talking about anything and everything, suddenly JJ stopped to stare into the window of a shop. There was a small white bunny sitting on top of a blue painted bookshelf in a display of a baby boy's nursery.

"Let's go in." JJ said not waiting for an answer. She threw the door open and walked into the shop right up to a female employee. "Do you have any of the bunnies in the window?"

The brunette sales girl smiled widely as she watched Spencer walk in and take JJ's hand. "Of course, I believe there is one left..." She trailed of as she searched the store for it. "Ah! Right here!" She smiled pulling the bunny off the shelf.

"JJ? We were getting a cat remember?" Spencer sighed trying to drag her out of the store.

"Please Spence? I just... I don't know, I saw the bunny and I really want it." She tilted her head to look up at him.

"Fine." He sighed, "How much?"

"Fifteen dollars." The sales women replied.

Spencer's eye nearly popped out of his head. "Fifteen? That's insane! What's it made out of? Gold?"

The lady chuckled softly. "Velveteen." Spencer rolled his eyes taking out his wallet to pull out three five dollar bills and placing them in the woman's hands before taking JJ's hand and dragged her out of the store.

"I hope you're happy, now your cat doesn't get a litter box." Spencer joked.

They found the pet store and JJ ran right up to the cat cages while Spencer stopped in the pet supplies to figure out what they needed.

"Look Spence!" JJ yelled rushing around the corner, in her arms was a baby tri-coloured kitten. "She's so cute! Her name is Gypsy can we get this one?" She pleaded.

"Whatever cat you want." He replied picking up a purple cat bowl and setting it on top of the pile. Soon they found a sales man who gave them the paper work to fill out and placed the cat in the card bored carrier. Next they headed over to the check out.

"Ma'am, you know it isn't safe to have cat fescues around when you are pregnant." The man at the checkout informed.

JJ looked up oddly at Spencer then back to the woman. "I'm not pregnant."

The man stopped and stuttered for a moment. "I uh I saw the bunny in your purse and just assumed... I'm so sorry!"

They paid and headed back to the apartment, the cat made tiny meowings which caused JJ to squeal in excitement. Once they arrived Spencer set up the food bowls in the kitchen and the litter box in the bathroom. Next he placed the cat bed in the living room which JJ later moved into their bedroom. As Spence filled the water bowl JJ opened the tabs of the carrying box then lifted the kitten out. The blonde just sat on the floor watching the cat as it stared back at her. "She's not doing anything Spence!" JJ yelled into the kitchen.

"She's a cat JJ not a circus monkey." He replied, JJ sighed standing up from the floor.

"Why'd you let me get a cat?" She mumbled to herself as she walked into her bedroom not noticing Gypsy was prancing slowly behind her.
