Gabumon and Y/N make their way down the creaky stairs, the sound echoing down the stone walled hallway. You take your digivice out of your pocket and press one of the buttons to the screen, which emits a white light. Getting to the bottom of the stairs, you both look at the other end of the hallway. You didn't see it from upstairs, but the hallways go around a corner. Proceeding cautiously, you both continue to walk the light from your digivice, glinting off the damp stone walls. The crying a whaling still echoing towards you both, fighting the urge to run towards the sound as quickly as you could. You know you've got to be cautious, there's too many unanswered questions about the forest, this house, and the basement that doesn't look like it belongs to the house.

Reaching the corner, you both stop and look. At the other end of it, there's another torch hanging on the wall lighting the way, along with another corner. The sounds of the crying are still getting louder, looking at Gabumon. "Is it just me, or is this giving you more of a dungeon vibe than a basement?"

"It does feel like that. Why would a dungeon be underneath a house?"

"Why would a house magically appear in the middle of a Bakemon and Phantomon forest?"

Gabumon shrugs his shoulders, " The digital world is full of mysteries.

Y/N groans slightly. In response, for everything the pair had seen in the years since they met, there always seemed to be another mystery around the corner.

"Let's keep going,"

The two of you start walking again, the sound of the whaling and crying making the echos of your footsteps near silent, reaching the end of the next corridor, the hallways opens up into a room, light up with torches staggered around the room. Entering the room, there's three solid looking wooden doors, with metal circular handles and a key hole underneath. Opposite that are two big arched wooden doors, with matching metal handles but no keyhole. On the remaining wall would have been a bookcase that covered the majority of it, but it had fallen into disrepair, shelves caved in on them selves and damaged books covered in thick layers of dust and cobwebs. Standing in the centre of the room, you both look at the 3 identical doors. The one in the middle was where all the crying was coming from

Looking at Gabumon, " What do you say, try spooky door number 2 with the crying? Or roll the dice and try one of the others?"

Gabumon groans, " Do you really think it's time to try and be funny?"

You shrug and turn to look at the door again. " What do you mean try? I am funny. "

"Funny looking maybe" retorts Gabumon

"Watch it, fuzz ball, you're not that pretty without your fur."

Smirks on both your faces, Y/N approaches the door, the crying behind the door continuing even with your voices so close. Grasping the metal handle, you twist the handle and hear the latch lift up

"I'm going to open the door now. We're friendly and just want to make sure that you're okay. "

The crying and sniffling contuines, pulling the door towards you, it starts to swing open. You try and steel yourself for who or what is behind the door. The old rusted hinges make the door tougher to open, but with not too much of a struggle, it swings fully open.

Y/N and Gabumon feel the cold air from the damp cell hit them both. As your eyes adjust to the light of the cell, you see the source of the crying. Sitting on the bed, legs held tightly into her chest, head resting on her knees. Her brown bangs hanging to sides

A concerned look on your face "are you okay?"

The girl bolts up right, her brown eyes puffy from all her crying. "Get away!" She screams."I can't take any more of your tricks!"
