I gently caressed Freyja's head while lying down on the couch. She slowly climbed onto my lap, nesting on my chest. A smile stretched across my face. She has become a lot more cuddly in these past few months.
I lifted up my arm a little to pet her adorable little head, feeling weakness running through my arm in the process. I went a little too hard on my shoulders and arms today in the gym; the first signs of muscle fatigue were already showing just barely a few hours afterwards.
Ever since that attack happened in New York a week ago, I have gone to the gym almost every day with the intention of staying in shape as much as I can, on top of the requirements from my employers.
And I loved going as well, especially when Matteo tagged along on his rest days. The only downside of it was the constant muscle and overall fatigue I got, even after training my body for years to make a living.
The loud rumbling of my stomach broke the silence that fell on my room. Freyja expressed her displeasure upon me disturbing her beauty sleep on my chest, which I answered with a reassuring pat, but my hunger wouldn't leave me rest.
I sighed heavily as I was thinking. Should I look around and find something to eat? Or order takeout? The second option sounded a lot better in my head, so I took my phone out and opened Uber Eats.
A big image appeared on my screen, an ad about a restaurant that was offering discounts on their steaks and fish dishes, and looking at the first option, I could feel my stomach agreeing with me quickly.
Matteo would probably like a steak too after his afternoon training when he returns, but if I order now it'll run cold quickly way before he'd actually arrive. Driven by a sudden idea, I placed Frey down on the couch carefully as I stood up and grabbed my car keys from the table.
What could be better than ordering steak as takeout? Making it yourself at home. I put my shoes on and pulled my black off-white hoodie over my head, which I just received as a gift before their runway show I was about to leave for in two weeks from now.
I slipped my keys into the pockets of my equally black sweatpants and quickly unlocked my phone to write a message to Matteo that I went to the store but will be back around the time he arrives.
I tried to follow the habits that made him a little calmer after he tended to be way too worried about my whereabouts and stuff ever since I broke the guy's ribs in NYC. After I sent it, I slipped it into my other pocket and left the house towards the underground garage.
It was pretty easy to find my ocean blue beauty parked right between the snow white Mercedes GLE of our downstairs neighbor and the Lamborghini Urus of his girlfriend. I revved the car to life quickly as I jumped in, swerving into the busy streets of Madrid during the later evening hours.
I looked up the biggest supermarket Madrid has in the outer districts before I picked out the music and kind of just enjoyed the drive to the supermarket. The parking lot was already emptying out as we quickly approached the closing hours, so I had no time to waste.
I picked out the closest one I had to me at the moment, behind the building under beautiful tall trees. Almost no cars were parked around me at the time, so I didn't really care about where I left the vehicle as I jumped out and headed inside quickly.
A few people were walking here and there between the aisles, paying no attention to me as I dashed forward next to them, with a basket hanging on my arm.
I picked out everything quickly, paying special attention to the meat and the side dishes I was about to make later at home. Only the very last thing remained, the cheese I wanted to melt into my mashed potatoes.
