"Honestly, I didn't expect us to end up together today when I woke up yesterday." I chuckled as I turned my head to the side and intertwined my fingers with Matteo's. I placed my head gently on his chest as we were both lying on our backs, wrapped in the bedsheets.

"I love every single moment I get to spend with you." He gently planted a kiss on my head while slowly caressing my bare stomach under the blanket. No matter how many months we spent dating, his touch never failed to leave me with goosebumps.

"And I couldn't have gotten a minute of sleep knowing that I upset you either way." His sentence drew a smile on my face. "Whenever I and my sister fought as kids, our parents always told us to never go to sleep while angry."

The very first rays of the sun appeared outside of my bedroom windows, painting the sky into a lighter shade of blue as the first sounds of doves were audible under my balcony.

"You know..." I started as I flipped to my stomach, supporting myself on my elbow right next to Matteo so I could face him. "Next time you can just call me back." I told him with a mischievous smile on my face, explaining to him that he won't have to fly here from another country whenever we fight. Because couples in love tend to do that sometimes.

"I sure hope there won't be a next time." He laughed and drew me closer, so now I was lying on top of him. "It would be a lot easier if we didn't have to fly so much though." He sighed before I got closer, and we exchanged a small kiss.

"I really wish we could just live together." My heart skipped a beat as I snapped my head up with a questioning and quite stunned look on my face.

"You would move in with me?" I mean, yeah, it's not like we are strangers to each other anymore, but I thought I was the only one wishing that too early in our relationship before.

"I mean, why not? We love each other, plus we have spent weeks on end together and did just fine even when following our own daily habits." He shrugged his shoulders with a smile.

"It's just the fact that I cannot leave Madrid." He sighed heavily. "Maybe one day."

"Whoa." Adriana didn't have too much to add to the conversation.

"AWE, THIS IS SO CUTE; MY BEST FRIEND IS SO IN LOVE," unlike Xavier, who shouted over from my kitchen, rummaging in the fridge in search of another bottle of wine.

My two best friends just happened to end up together in Paris a week after my altercation with Matteo, and just as always we had to team up for our annual "the stars have aligned and so did we" sleepover at my place.

"He's absolutely smitten." Adri smiled at me vividly after the first round of shock.

"So what, you're moving to Spain now?" Xavier stumbled back to the living room, sitting back in his spot on my couch, which we assembled into a huge bed in front of the TV.

I snapped my eyes at him as I was chewing on my lips, contemplating what to answer.

"You're not sure yet." Adriana obviously knew exactly what I was thinking and spared me from another few seconds of awkward silence as she was petting Freyja's head, who curled up on her lap and fell asleep.

I sighed heavily as I fell backwards against the backrest of the couch, my face buried behind my hands. I had no clue what I was actually thinking.

"What??" Xavier's dismay was clearly audible in his voice as I could hear him popping the wine bottle open and pouring the drinks. "Why? What's wrong?" He handed over a glass to Adriana cautiously as I sat up and took the other one.
