"Hey Jake, I was wondering if I could take 3 days off. There's this emergency that I need to take care of." I was on the phone with Jake, and after learning that Hwayoung wouldn't be able to babysit Taehyun I was hoping that Jake would let me off for a few days. "Yeah but what's the emergency?" He asked.
"O-oh it's a little bit private." I was hoping he would buy my lie since I'm not the greatest liar and he seemed to just pass it off. "Okay, I'll see you back at work in 3 days right?"
"Yeah of course"
I quickly ended the call and headed back to the living room where Taehyung was eating some fruit and reading. Taehyun had always been such an independent and bright kid since he was born. It almost felt as if he was 5 times his age. Since I always had to work and provide for him and I, he learnt to be independent and not ask for much. It's hurts to know that because of me I stripped his childhood and happiness away.
"Hey baby, what are you reading?"
"My book from nursery. It's about a boy finding a dragon in a forest. He was scared at first to approach him but then he became brave enough to talk to the dragon and then they became friends."
"Wow, Taehyun that sounds really interesting. You should read it to me sometime, it's bedtime now so let's go to sleep. You and me are gonna have a fun time tomorrow."
"Really? Don't you have work."
"No Taehyunie, I won't have work for the next 3 days so we can have so much fun together."
Taehyun shot me one of his signature grins before I quickly took him to bed. Once he was finally asleep I made myself a small sandwich and some tea before sitting on the floor leaning onto my sofa and watching some TV.

"Are you feeling okay, sir?" One of my butlers asked me. "Um yes, I mean I don't know. Charles, what does it mean when someone keeps trying to hide something from you but you don't want to let them go."
"Are you asking for my opinion sir?" I nodded and plopped onto my bed. "Well I'd call that admiration or, maybe even love. May I ask who this is about?" He asked and I sighed, "Are you free tomorrow Charles?"
"Yes sir." He responded, I then grinned "Well then let's go uncover some secrets. You are dismissed for the rest of the night, get some rest and meet me in my room tomorrow at 9am. Don't tell my father about this. I'll even add a small bonus to your salary if you help me out."
"Of course sir, but what will you do if you find out something you wish to never know?"
"It's okay, I can handle anything. You know that best."
