Episode 107: "A Tale From The Past"

Many years ago:
Location: Kanto

We pick up a few years before the events of the series. A young man is dropped off by his father who wears a trench coat and hat combo. His father tells him to go and try to get his first Pokémon from Professor Oak as the man has some business to deal with. The kid revealed to be named Silver is followed by his two babysitters: younger versions of Jesse and James who were hired to protect the young brat.

The three go up to Professor Oak's lab where he is giving out starters to brand new trainers. Silver tells Oak that he demands a starter but Oak explains he is all out of starters. A pissed off Silver storms out of the room with Jesse and James being blamed for his tardiness.

Jesse and James arrive at a phone booth to attempt to make a call out to his father to explain their failure when they turn to look to find that Silver has gone missing. Not too far away in another town, a younger version of Green is waiting for her parents at the Pokémon Center when she suddenly screams. When her parents return to pick her up, they find that she's gone missing too.

We flash to Green waking up in the grasp of a giant flying bird as she looks over to find that Silver is in the grip of the thing also as the two are flown off to parts unknown...
