Each of the human fighters woke up to Thomas standing at the foot of their bed, in the dark.
His eyes, which showed to be a dark brown the last time they saw it, was completely gold now.
It wasn't exactly something you'd want to be waking up to... ever.
The events after that went by like a blur. But let's just say... it included a lot of swearing and a lot of new injuries on Thomas.
All the human fighters were sitting in the dining area, the smell of pancakes wafting through not only the room, but the corridors, too.
"Sorry if it's not much." Thomas said apologetically, now sporting a cut lip, a few still bleeding wounds on his face, and a bruise on his elbow.
His eyes were no longer golden, but dark brown yet again.
Truth be told, — despite Thomas' words, — the food there was quite overabundant.
"I just didn't know how much you guys normally eat." Before any of the other men could reply, Thomas had already started consuming his food, practically inhaling it.
Some of them stared at the boy for a few moments, but they all began eating the food eventually.
Weirdly enough, Katherine was absent for the entire meal. Most of them expected the girl to enter sooner or later, but said occurance never happened.
Eventually, they all finished, some of them expressing their gratitude towards Thomas, some complimenting the boy on how his cooking was fairly delightful.
"Hâo! Maybe I'll allow you to be my personal chef once all of this is over." The Emperor told the demigod, causing him to laugh.
Humanities fighters were starting to think Qin Shi Huang had a soft spot for children. It was just an assumption. Just a silly little assumption.
"I'll try to accept the job if I'm free," Thomas giggled as he turned to face all the humans, "you know, I find it really funny how most of your countries colonized mine."
All the chatter and laughter stopped due to those words that happened to slip out of the boy's mouth.
"What...?" Raiden stared at him dumbfoundedly.
The demigod laughed, though now a bit akwardly.
"Nevermind." The demigod said, growing a bit tense at hearing Raiden's voice.
"Anyways, Kath gave me the go signal to show you guys camp, so I guess I'll give you a proper introduction to me on the way there." Thomas got up from his chair and skipped to the door.
The human fighters stayed rooted to their seats, looking at the boy weirdly.
Thomas turned around, casting the other men a curious glance.
"Why are you guys just sitting there? We're going now." Thomas tilted his head.
"Wait. We need to get ready, buddy." Adam went up to Thomas and ruffled his hair, causing Thomas to flinch a bit, his gaze growing a bit blank.
