The son of Nemesis lay on one of the beds in the infirmary, the smell of sanitizer and the blinding shades of white in the medical area were evident as usual.
The sounds of a heart monitor could be heard, its "beeps" reassuring the demigods that Ethan Nakamura was not dead yet. Lucky for the children of the gods, the infirmary came with machinery like it.
Again, Ethan wasn't deceased. But with the boy's poor state, he well could've been.
His chest moved up and down ever so slightly, his breathing apparently shallow. The bandage around his stomach slowly soaked through with blood, and the son of Apollo knew he'd have to change it soon.
Three tubes were connected to Ethan's shoulder, all his IV drips had been changed less than an hour ago. The heart monitor showed the boy's heartbeat, it flickering between slow and normal.
Will Solace got supplies like medecine and the mentioned IV drips from above due to Katherine buying them on her travels to other universes. The girl tended to run across places where they would be accesible to purchase quite frequently.
A bandage covered the boy's right eye, just because it seemed unusual to keep his eyepatch on while the teenager seemed to be in such a dire state.
Thomas stared at one of the infirmary walls, the son of Shiva's body taking up the chair beside Ethan's bed. His cheeks were stained with tears, his eyes a tiny bit red as he stared at the wall.
The son of Apollo was also present in the room, as expected of him. The dark circles under Will Solace's eyes were clear, and they seemed to be present in everyone but the humans.
"Focus on my hand, Thomas." The blonde offered his hand to the son of Shiva.
It took Thomas a while to respond, but he soon grasped Will's hand. He felt it; the warmth, the comfort it gave.
"Thanks." The boy responded, his voice weak from not speaking and just staring at his best friend's body. His brown eyes flicked up to look at his comforter.
Thomas' eyes were filled with worry, and he looked like he was about to start crying again soon.
"Will he be alright?"
The son of Apollo sighed, and he could feel himself shiver a bit. Perhaps it was because of the air conditioning in the infirmary. Or maybe it was because he felt there was a good chance the unease and restlessness he felt was not going to pass anytime soon.
"I don't know." He finally responded after a few moments of silence.
Only yesterday; on January thirty, had Leo Valdez, Piper Mclean, and Ethan Nakamura returned from their long and tedious quest.
The two former demigods mentioned looked panicked, Piper screaming for help as her desperation even caused her to use charmspeak as she yelled.
Everyone came (again, because of the charmspeak Piper had laced in her tone. Though the demigods would've probably come either way.), the humans confused, and the demigods relieved. But at the same time, not too relieved, considering how frantic Piper looked and sounded.
But the demigods relief faded completely as soon at it had come when they saw Leo heave Ethan off the pegasus. The son of Nemesis' shirt was ripped, and a stab wound could be seen in his stomach. The boy was passed out, his skin pale and cold.
