Getting back (part 1)

Y/N POV
I laid on my bed reading my if I stay book when I heard a knock on the door. "Come in" I looked up at the door to see Carl "hey Carl what's up" I ask him "Um hey Y/N I want to talk to you about something" he seeming nervous when he was telling me that "so I really like this girl and I don't know how to tell her and I don't really know if she likes me back" this could be it the day I have been waiting for along time he might like me back. I felt excitement run through me "I say you just go out in tell her I mean your a great guy what's there to lose" I tell him with a smile on my face "so you think I should ask Enid out" my heart dropped I can't believe it I guess I should have known he didn't like me "uh yeah she seems really great" I say trying to sound happy for him. "Hey can you maybe come back tomorrow I'm not really feeling good tonight I think I'm just going to lay down" I tell him while fighting the tears "um yeah sure I guess I will see you tomorrow bye" I walked him out and immediately shut the door and just slide down the door bursting into tears

I woke up on the floor I must have fallen asleep while crying by the door. I get up and look at the mirror at myself. I see a reck what I'm I even doing crying over a boy that doesn't even like me. I look at the time it's 6:30 am I could go back to sleep cause school starts at 10:30 or I could makeover myself I think in my head. I decided that I was going to give myself a makeover.

I head over to the clothing and feminine area to get some supplies I would need. Even though this is an apocalypse they found some pretty cute clothes on the last run. I decided to pick out a white flowy crop top with a pastel floral cardigan pastel pink shorts and a feather necklace. I also grabbed a little bit of makeup supplies just to complete the look but not to much cause I don't want to look like a clown

Once I had gotten everything I need I went home to get ready. I threw on the outfit and added some powder, concealer, light champaign eyeshadow, little coats of mascara some lip balm, and a baby pink lip gloss. Once I was happy with my look I threw my hair up into a messy yet cute and practical bun. I started to head down stairs to find my mom all ready making breakfast "wow you look more girly than usual is there some one" my mom smiles at me "nope just wanted to make a change have a fresh start" I tell her "okay" she says in disbelief "bye mom see you after school" I rush out the door grabbing my backpack I see Carl going out of his house with Enid holding hands. He waves for me to come over but I just walk away trying to keep my head up high. While trying to get away I hit some thing it was Ron "hey Y/N sorry I didn't see you there" I smile as he gives me a hand up "it's okay so if your heading off to school right now want to walk with me" "sure lets go"

We start to walk he starts to tell me all these pretty funny stories that get me laughing. I could tell Carl was starting to look at us and even Enid was looking over at Ron with a look on her face. As we walk into school we are all greater by are teacher. "Today class we will be doing a partner project" everyone starts to look at each other for partners i felt someone tap my shoulder I turn around to see Ron giving me the look like I want you to be my partner I give him a nod. I all ready had a feeling that Carl was with Enid so why even bother asking him.
*slight time skip*

The teacher dismissed us. Ron had to stay after to help out with something so I headed home. I guess now you can call me and Ron and "item" as I was walking home I felt someone tap my shoulder "um hey Y/N want to hang out today" I turn around to look at Carl "no Carl not really I have plans" I whip my hair back around "oh okay I will see you around than" he starts to yell to me. I just smirk to myself
