By the time the sun was setting, Mrs Yeo and her children were still gathered in the painting room, unable to wrap their heads around the reason behind Mr Keonhee and Mr Youngjo's visit earlier that day. Mrs Yeo wouldn't stop complaining about it as her daughters were trying to guess it while laughing about it, the same joyful way that always characterized them. Hwanwoong was sitting beside his brother instead, silent while waiting for him to somehow express his feelings about meeting Mr Keonhee again. Seoho didn't share a word for a while.
"I'm glad it's over." He suddenly said when he finally felt like saying something.
Hwanwoong lifted his eyes up from his lap to finally meet his brother's.
"...at least we can now meet as indifferent acquaintances." Seoho was staring at his own shoes.
The blond couldn't believe his brother's words: "Oh, yes..." He sarcastically replied.
"No... You cannot think me so weak as to be in danger now, Hwanwoong." Seoho complained as he finally turned his head towards his beloved brother. "We haven't seen each other for—"
"Seoho... I think you're in great danger of making him as much in love with you as ever." His brother insisted. "Have you noticed the way he couldn't take his eyes off you? Because I did!"
Seoho looked away as he did whenever he wasn't in the mood for continuing a conversation on a certain topic, especially with his brother: "I'm sorry though, he came with Mr Youngjo..."
Hwanwoong sighed, keeping the other questions he had to himself: "Don't... Don't say that."
Seoho gave him a surprised look, especially as soon as he met his guilty eyes: "Why ever not?"
"Seoho..." Hwanwoong gulped, struggling to confess his feelings. "I've been so blind..."
His brother was definitely concerned now: "Woong, what do you mean-?"
"Look, it's him!!" Seyoung suddenly screamed while looking out of the window. "He's back!!"
Mrs Yeo and Eunseong rushed towards her, dying out of the desire to check if the youngest wasn't making a fool of her family by announcing something as impossible as Mr Keonhee visiting their house for the second time on the same day. "It's him indeed!" Mrs Yeo gasped.
Seoho and Hwanwoong were only able to stand up as the door to the painting room was already opening to reveal Mr Keonhee in the flesh again. He was sweaty and he was panting as if he had been running all the way there, but nobody could understand the reason of his presence. Nobody except Hwanwoong who noticed a certain glint in the other gentleman's eyes.
"I know this is all very untoward..." The gentleman spoke firmly before anyone could interrupt him this time. "...but I would love to request the privilege of speaking to Mr Seoho, alone."
Silence fell in the room as Mrs Yeo was elaborating the fact Mr Keonhee might had decided to come back to directly ask the head of the house to marry one of her daughters. "Everybody to the kitchen..." She immediately said, slightly pushing her daughters towards the door. "Except you, my dear Seoho, of course." She added, taking her oldest son's hand before taking a bow in front of Mr Keonhee. "Oh, Mr Keonhee, it's so good to see you again so soon." That being said, she finally left with Hwanwoong who had been waiting to close the door behind her.
There Mr Keonhee and Mr Seoho were, silently staring at each other after being apart for so long. Seoho was standing by the window, unable to move, unable to speak, unable to tell his heart to stop beating so fast whenever Keonhee was in the same room as him with his beautiful smile and adorable pointy ears. It suddenly hit him how much his brother knew him because the sole thought the two of them were alone face to face was making all Seoho's defences break down, as if it hadn't been a day since the last time he had felt that in love with Mr Keonhee.
