After 2 months ay may masamang nangyari sa family namin. Tita died and is cremated. Dahil doon ay pinilit ako ni Ate Frances na umuwi daw saglit sa pinas and after 2 months ay pwede na raw akong bumalik.
I wasted no time in going back home. I miss my family so much.
"Ingat ka ah?" Ate said then hugged me.
"Thanks Ate Ces." I said then went to board the plane.
Nakaupo na ako and I was thinking of how my family would be surprised. Wala akong sinabihan na kahit sino na uuwi na ako. After how many hours ay nakadating na ako sa pinas. I had to call Primo, lying about a package that I sent to the terminal for him to pick up.
"This package would have been more believable if you said what type of box it is." Napalingon ako sa likod at nakita si Primo. "Welcome home, Lala!"
"Thanks!" He helped me with my stuff and we planned on how we were going to surprise Estella. "Kasama niya ba si Oscar?"
"No, Jance and Oscar are at Eric's house right now." He answered. "Jance is uhm.."
"Is what?" I asked.
"Jance moved on. He's trying to find someone else already."
I should be happy right? We both moved on.
"Good for him." I said as he took his phone and dialed Estella's number, he put it on speaker para marinig ko.
"Hello, Ella?" Primo said.
"Oh?" She answered and it melted my heart.
"Kakagaling ko lang sa terminal, nakuha ko na yung pinadala ni Lala. May ibibigay daw siya sa'yo na bags dito."
"Kahit wag na." She said at natawa si Primo. "Kahit si Lala na lang ang ibigay mo sakin."
"Sige ikaw ang magbabayad ng ticket namin." Primo said kaya natawa kami. "May mga chocolates din pala dito."
"Okay, ingat bestie." Estella said then ended the call.
"I do have to tell you na may napapansin kami kay Ella." He said. "She's been moody lately."
I smiled at the assumption of her pregnancy. Oscar really didn't argue about it.
We arrived at her house and we got out of the car. I hid behind Primo as he knocked on the door. Bumukas iyon at narinig ko ang boses ng sister ko.
"Nasa car." Primo said. "May isa pa palang gift sa'yo si Lala." Primo stepped aside and revealed me to Ella.
"Hi, Ella..."
Natulala siya before she touched my face and pulled me for a hug. Hindi siya bumitaw ng matagal kaya I had to embrace it. Halos isang taon kaming hindi nagkita.
"Lala naman eh!" Estella said and pulled away from the hug.
We did a little catching up before I asked Primo to drive me to my house. Kinagabihan ay nag message ako sa pamilya ko na bibisita ako bukas.
After my visit ay inaya naman ako ni Estella for lunch. We wanted to surprise our friends. Oscar, Eric, and Jance were together while me and Estella were with Primo. Kinakabahan akong makita siya after all this time. I mean after 2 months ay birthday na ulit niya.
Estella covered my whole face with different scarves and glasses. Ang init kaya sa pinas! Mabuti sana kung may snow eh wala naman.
Naunang dumating si Oscar at Eric, tinignan ako ni Eric and laughed!
"Kahit itago niyo, halatang si Lalaina iyan." He said then sat down kaya tinignan ako ni Oscar.
"Lalaina!?" He exaggerated. "Kelan ka pa andito?"
"Just yesterday."
"Tangina, may accent talaga." Oscar said at may humampas sa kaniya. "Aray!"
Lahat kami ay tumingin kay Jance as he laughed at Oscar.
"Don't curse at her, she doesn't like that." He said then sat beside me. "Welcome back, Lalaina!"
I smiled at him and things felt very different. He didn't call me by my nickname, he really moved on.
"Order na tayo." Jance said then took the menu from me. "Fish and sticks po tapos sa kaniya naman ay tuna pesto with strawberry shake. Kayo guys?"
"Kung maka-order parang sila lang!" Estella complained then looked at me. "Jowa? Jowa?"
"Ay! Did you wanted that? Papalitan natin kung gusto mo." He said but I sid na it was fine.
I didn't want pasta, actually gusto ko yung order niya pero I couldn't say no. Nang makadating ang orders namin ay tinititigan ko ang plato ni Jance. Nagulat ako na pinagpalit niya yung plate namin.
"You should have told me." He whispered.
"So, Lalaina how was London?" Eric asked.
"I love it!" I answered, knowing that everything was fake.
"You came here for vacation?" Jance asked.
"Ah yes, after maybe 5 months I'll go back to Manchester."
Nag-iba ang mukha nilang lima.
"Wala na ba talagang rason para pigilan ka naming umalis?" Eric asked pero ngumiti lang ako sa kaniya.
"My only reason to stay depends on how much it wants me to." I said kaya nagulat ako na lahat sila ay tumingin kay Jance.
Parang hindi niya napansin kaya hinayaan namin. After lunch ay kausap ko si Jance, I wanted to be civil with him.
"I like your hair." He said kaya napahawak ako sa buhok ko. "Pero, honestly speaking I think short hair talaga ang bagay sa'yo."
"Thanks." I said and I began asking about his girls. "Balita ko may mga nakakausap ka na raw?"
"Oh yeah, medyo naghahanap na nga rin ako for someone to settle with."
Napatango ako since he was turning 30 na.
"Ihahanap kita." I said.
"You? Seriously?" He asked habang tumatawa. "I'd never ask an ex for that specific favor."
Tama naman na ex na niya ako pero bakit parang may mali? I see it in his eyes, he feels the same way about it.
