"Nakita niyo si Jance?" Tinignan ko si Jake na parang kaninang umaga pang naghahanap. "Lalaina tell me when you see him ah? I need some papers from him."
"Okay!" I yelled when he ran off.
Lumabas ako ng faculty para tawagan si Jance. He wasn't picking up his damn phone. Malapit ng matapos ang araw kaya hanggang ngayon ay nagtataka ako kung saan pumunta si Jance? The last message he sent to me was about eating breakfast this morning pero dun na natapos.
I went home and tried calling him again but he didn't pick up.
Hinahanda ko na ang papers ng mga estudyante ko for their summative test tomorrow when Jance messaged me.
From: Jance kulit (my bf)
Hi baby, sorry I was out of town. Hindi ko yata nasabi sa inyo, sorry.
I told him na he should be mindful, naperwisyo ang oras ni Jake sa trabaho and he should always know what he's doing.
To: Jance kulit (my bf)
Also, why are you out of town anyway?
He explained something about finding a gift for me on our monthsary. I was so disappointed na inuna niya pa iyon, knowing na hell week din ngayon.
Kinabukasan ay pumasok siya at humingi ng tawad kay Jake over and over again.
"Okay lang, just don't do that again. Muntik na tayong masisante." He said and tapped Jance on the shoulder before leaving.
"I hope you learned your lesson, Jance. Halos wala ka palang iniwan na gawain for the students." I said at tumango lang ito.
"Sorry din, Laina. Hindi na mauulit promise." He said and kisses my hand before going to his next class.
Kakasimula pa lang and I don't want reports about his actions to cause him to lose this job. Halos 6 years na siya rito.
"Lala, let's eat lunch." Inaya ako ni Primo kaya sumama ako kaagad.
Bumibili kami when we saw Jance with his students, laughing. We chose to keep our relationship private in order for us to focus.
"Hi Ma'am Lalaina!" Nathan greeted me kaya nginitian ko ito. "Sir bagay kayo ni Ma'am."
Tinignan naman ako kaagad ni Jance when Nathan said na bagay kami ni Primo. He wasn't usually the jealous type lalo na at si Primo naman ito but it felt odd that day. Nagtampo siya and wouldn't even talk to me kaya I tried so hard to explain things to him.
Kinagabihan ay umayos kami, he said sorry for the way he behaved. I was starting to be very worried about my relationship with Jance. It felt like we were changing everyday, parang hindi kami ayos palagi. Everything was different and everything felt weird.
"Baby, mag-iinom kami ni Oscar." He said kaya pumayag ako, he knew what he was doing. "Walang babae, si Estella lang."
"Jance, kay Ella pa lang patay ka na. You don't need to worry about me." I said while eating my pasta.
"Thanks baby." He kissed my cheek then typed on his phone again. "Baby gusto mo bang mag-overnight sa resort? Isasama ko sina Eric."
"I don't know yet, masyado pang busy ang sched ko but let's plan na lang kapag free." I said.
"Aight, baby."
