Attack on Titan | First Battle

After the ceremony, some of the Cadets were ordered to restock and adjust the cannons in Trost District. Looking just over the wall, you saw some wandering Titans and gave them a disgusted look. One of them saw you and tried climbing the Wall.

You kept refueling and stocking the cannons with the others and Eren was actually doing a pretty good job. Sasha seemed to be bored out of her mind and held her stomach as she kept an eye on you.

Conny went to Eren to break the silence.

"Hey, I want to join the Scouts as well."

"Huh—wait really?" Eren asked.

"Yeah." Conny said, a little embarrassed. "I am too. I heard your speech back at the ceremony and I felt motivated about it for some reason. I'm going to join the Scouts as well, alright?"

"Glad to hear it!" Eren said.

"These are done!" You said, prepping a cannon.

"Same, I'm done as well!" Thomas said.

"After this, what do we do?" Sasha asked, before her stomach started to growl. "Aw man...I should've stolen that meat. Screw you, (Y/N). Now I have to wait for you to finish."

"Don't worry." You said, and Sasha grinned widely at your next statement and smiled. "When I'm done with the cannons here, you'll have more than just one pack of meat after—"

You could feel your body freeze as a lightning bolt struck the grass outside of Trost. Looking to your left, you saw the giant head of the Colossal Titan peering over the wall just like five years ago.

Despite all the training you did, you could not move at all. The terror of that day in Shinganshina started to pour before overflowing your mind. You tried to grab the handles of your blade but your fingers trembled at the sight of the Colossal.

In a span of a few milliseconds, the Colossal emitted ínstense amounts of heat which sent the Cadets flying off the Wall. Samuel screamed as he fell but Sasha managed to grab him before they could fall. You snapped your eyes open and snapped your grapple hooks on the Wall just in time.

"Why couldn't I move...?" You asked yourself, your breath trembling as well before the Colossal Titan fully destroyed the Outer Gate as you raised your arms to protect yourself from debris.

Civilians screamed as Titans started to stumble into Trost. They all raised their idiotic heads towards the livestock that were humans. As they started to rush, you felt a boiling anger fill your body. Sasha took a glance at you just before you swooped in and sliced the nape of an unaware fifteen meter Titan.

A five-meter Abnormal leaped to try and swallow you whole but you jumped off the previous Titan, making the Abnormal chomp on the first Titan instead. You swooped to the left and yelled as you killed the Abnormal with no difficulty.

Eren himself decided to confront the Colossal Titan and went up the Wall. Eren angrily frowned as he looked towards the Colossal, whose eyes now fixated on Eren as he held his dual blades out.

"Hey..." Eren growled. "...it has been five years!"

Below, you stabbed the nape of another Titan and tried to buy as much time as possible. Still, there were just way too many of them. Five meters escaped your sight and started to head to the civilians, but you sliced them down before they could grab a single one of them.

The Garrison had managed to finally arrive and try to get the civilians out as they guided them to the Inner Gates. They all saw as you killed Titan after Titan, the blood steaming on your body as their bodies began to evaporate.
