Miranda chatted with her parents on the phone, she couldn't help but steal glances at Ben and Tuck playing together in the background. Their laughter and playful antics filled the room with warmth and joy, reminding Miranda of the special bond they quickly developed over the weeks after meeting each other.
As she listened to her parents' voices on the other end of the line, Miranda felt a surge of excitement building inside her. She had been waiting for the right moment to share the news about Ben with her parents, and now, as she watched him interact with Tuck, she knew that this was the perfect opportunity.
"Hey, Mom, Dad," Miranda began, her voice tinged with excitement. "I have something I want to tell you."
"What is it Mandy" Her mom asked
"Everything okay" Her father asked
On the other end of the line, Miranda's parents listened attentively, their curiosity piqued by her sudden change in tone.
"I've been seeing someone," Miranda continued, her heart racing with anticipation. "His name is Ben, and... well, he's amazing."
There was a pause on the other end of the line as Miranda's parents processed the news. Then, her mom's voice came through, filled with warmth and curiosity.
"Tell us more about this Ben," her mom said, her tone eager.
Miranda laughed, feeling a warmth spreading through her at her parents' enthusiastic response. "Well, we met a while ago at the hospital, and... things just kind of fell into place," she explained, her voice tinged with affection as she watched Ben and Tuck playing together in the background.
"And the best part is," Miranda added, her voice filled with joy, "Tuck adores him. They've really bonded."
"Miranda, we're so happy for you," her father said warmly. "Ben sounds like a wonderful man."
"He really is," Miranda agreed, her voice filled with gratitude. "I just wanted you both to know... because he's become such an important part of our lives."
"We can't wait to meet him," her dad said warmly.
Miranda smiled, her heart swelling with gratitude for her parents' love and support. Ben couldn't help but overhear her conversation. With a warm smile, he approached her, leaning in to greet her parents over the phone.
"Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Bailey," Ben said warmly, his voice carrying across the room.
"That's him" Her mother asked
"Yes Momy, that's Ben" Miranda chuckled
"It's a pleasure to meet you too, Ben," Miranda's mom replied, her voice tinged with excitement. "Miranda has told us so much about you."
Ben chuckled softly, a hint of amusement in his voice. "I hope it's all good things," he joked, his eyes meeting Miranda's with affection.
"We can't wait to meet you in person, Ben," he said warmly. "Yes, Miranda speaks very highly of you."
Ben's smile widened at the warm reception from Miranda's parents. "Thank you," he replied sincerely. "I'm looking forward to meeting you both as well."
He turned his attention back to Tuck as they continued their game. Miranda finished up her conversation with her parents, a smile playing on her lips as she watched them from across the room.
"Alright, Mom and Dad, I'll talk to you later," Miranda said, her voice filled with warmth as she said her goodbyes.
As she hung up the phone, she couldn't help but feel a sense of happiness wash over her at the sight of Ben and Tuck playing together so joyfully.
