Rias Gremory POV

The warmth of the bright sun beamed across my skin as my peerage and I walked towards the school building. Normally, such bright light would weaken those with less resistance to it, but it felt wonderful to me.

"Wow, it seems re-construction is almost complete." Akeno's joy filled voice reached my ears as I saw the tall white building of Kuoh Academy standing before me once again. It was only a few days ago that nearly everything was destroyed in that fight with Kokabiel, but thanks to Sona's dedication and her member's hard work, we could once again walk these halls.

"Just a day or two more, and it will be back to school for us."

"Are you looking forward to your first day with everyone, Xenovia?" Turning my head over my shoulder, I asked my latest member how she felt. Xenovia's face was neutral like normal, but the corners of her mouth were raised slightly. If you weren't looking close enough, you could very well have missed it.

"Yes. And I'm also looking forward to seeing Issei again. There's something I need to discuss with him after all."

I was shocked for a brief moment at Xenovia's mention of Issei.

"Yes, it's a shame he couldn't come out today. I even invited him, but he seemed to be busy."

"You invited him out, Akeno?" I questioned my queen, but the only response she gave me was her usual closed eyed smile. Her light chuckle told me she felt no shame in doing something like that behind my back, but then again, I wouldn't have been opposed to having more hands to help out.

"We'll meet him again soon. But, with both Xenovia and Akeno vying for his attention, I wonder if I'll have the time to speak to him?" Even Kiba seemed to be looking for Issei's attention. What for, I wasn't sure, but now that I thought about it, nearly everyone in my peerage had some connection with him

With the exception of Koneko, he's affected our lives greatly in one way or another. I felt a small pang in my chest at that thought for some reason. It wasn't jealousy or anything of the sort, but I couldn't pinpoint an exact name to what I was feeling.

If I had to say something, it felt as if I was...missing something.

"It's only a few more days. I'm sure you all will have plenty of time to talk with him about whatever it is you want to. For right now, we should focus on what we came here to do."

"Yes, President!" Shaking my head gently, I brushed these strange feelings off before walking towards the school pool.

Once we stood at the edge, I could clearly see how much work was going to be put into this. It hadn't been used since last year but that wasn't all. Whole tree branches and stone debris were thrown into the depths of the murky water thanks to Issei's fight. Even though days had passed, I could vividly imagine his suffocating aura as he fought and nearly killed his enemy.

The small hairs on my forearm rose slightly as I felt goosebumps form. It truly was a sight to behold, how a human could achieve such strength. Then again, he is the Red Dragon Emperor. Strength is something that's natural to him. I can't help but be impressed by his growth.

"What a mess." Koneko spoke her first few words of the day, bringing me out of my thoughts. I ended up chuckling at her obvious statement before smiling.

"You're right about that. It may take awhile longer than normal to clean up, but this is nothing the Occult Research Club can't handle. Once we're done here, we can briefly enjoy the cool waters to our hearts content!" It seems the reward of being the first ones to enjoy the newly cleaned pool was enough to hype everyone up.
