After entering the room, I was met with a spacious banquet hall, filled with countless tables and delicious looking food, which was now spilled over the marble floor. Tables had been flipped over or outright split in half, and in the center of the storm of destruction stood two separate factions. Their demonic auras flared to mirror their agitation as their peerage hung out behind their Kings, awaiting their commands should they give one.
"Zephyrdor, must you really start a fight now of all times? Do you have a death wish? I wonder whether any of the higher-ups would blame me for killing you?" A cold female voice called out, all too willing to end her opponent's life.
The woman in question was still sitting at one of the few tables which hadn't been upended. Wearing a light blue formal dress she held poise despite her harsh words from a few moments ago, and her light pink eyes glared from behind her glasses towards the man of her irritation.
"Ha! I'll say it again, bitch! If you want a purging, you damn virgin, I'll be happy to oblige! You're always hiding behind your guards! That's why you still haven't done it yet! Seriously, you Demon King families make me sick! I only offered to give you a hand in the opening round!" Most likely, the instigator of this whole fiasco, responded in kind to the woman with glasses. His face was covered with tattoos, and his dark green hair was kept in a wild design.
His chest was also laid bare for the world to see as golden ornaments hung from his trousers. His face was contorted into a grotesque grin as he egged the woman on, clearly enjoying her discomfort.
With a heavy sigh, Sairaorg walked forward alone.
"We're supposed to wait in this hall until the event gets underway. Or rather, the old high-class families set aside this room for us to greet each other and air any bad blood. I didn't want to get involved in all this, but I guess it can't be helped now." Cracking his knuckles, he strode into the middle of the room, effectively splitting the two fighting families apart.
"Everyone, I want you to watch closely to what you're about to witness." Rias spoke up to her own peerage members while crossing her arms. Her face was fairly calm, almost analytical, as she eyed Sairaorg's back.
"You're about to witness the strength of the number one demon youth." I could see everyone shift in their posture to follow their King's orders. Gasper however, decided to hide behind my back, clearly nervous from the multitude of people here.
"Princess Seekvaira of House Agared. Zephyrdor, rebellious heir of House Glasya-Labolas. I realize that this is sudden, but I will say it only once. If you take this any further, you will face me as your opponent. Depending on what you say or do next, my fist shall show no mercy." With confidence pouring out of his very being, Sairaorg stated his intentions clearly.
The guy, Zephyrdor I believe, became irate the moment Sairaorg said anything. His face grew red as he turned to walk down Rias's cousin.
"I'm not about to let anyone from the incompetent House of Bael-" Sairaorg's body vanished from sight before appearing behind Zephyrdor. I had lost track of him for a split second, but saw the slight smirk on his face as he stared at me.
The next thing I heard was a thunderous crack as a powerful attack was delivered to the back of Zephyrdor's head, sending his body flying in my direction. No one from the O.R.C. was reacting in time, so I jumped out to catch the flying body.
The powerful reverberations from Sairaorg's punch spread throughout my body. Even diluted after traversing through this guy, his attack was strong and sharp, but I was able to grit my teeth and stand my ground, firmly catching him with one hand.
After the powerful gust of wind died down, Rias looked over to me in shock as I gripped the man's shirt and let him hang from my hand. He was knocked unconscious after a single punch.
