Numb

A heavy feeling in my heart.
But be that as it may,
It feels although a nothingness has come over my chest,
Leaving a hollow space, still heavy and gray.

Time slips through my fingers.
I wake up in the morning,
Not bothering to start the day.
Drowning in the only feeling of my soft blanket.

Promises for tomorrow
Becoming harder to fulfill,
Not because the stars don't align,
But because-

It was only when I felt my eyes water
That the empty feeling started to ache.
No longer heavy and gray,
The colors morphed into something I couldn't comprehend.

I wouldn't stay numb forever,
Neither will my happiness last.
We change and feel
Through one lifetime.
