"I love you too, Draco. D-Do you think th-there is a chance for us to go to a muggle doctor and have them do an ultrasound? It's something we could see the baby on already. And find out if he or she is okay!"

The young man's eyes widened.

"They can do that? How can anyone look into your belly without harming you or him?"

"Him? You sound very certain that it's a boy!"

Draco nodded.

"Malfoy first-borns always are boys. And it's an unwritten rule that the descendants from the house of Black have names either from something connected to the stars or the old Greeks. So, we should soon start to think about names, love. And we need to pick a date!"

"Draco! We can't 'pick' a date for the baby to be born. I am sure you knew that." The girl laughed.

"I was talking about a wedding date, Hermione. If you want me!" He slowly let himself slip from the bed to the floor, kneeling in front of her and pulling one of his own rings of his fingers to put onto hers if she agreed.

"Oh my God, what are you doing? Yes, Draco, I do want you. I thought you knew that by now! I love you so much!"

With a beaming smile, he placed the smallest of his rings, the one he had worn on his little finger, on her ring finger. Then he asked reluctantly.

"Are you still feeling sick, or can I kiss you?" Hermione didn't answer. Instead, she grabbed him by his collar and pulled him on top of her to smash her lips on his as soon as he was close enough.

He reacted on instinct and rolled them around to be underneath her, parting their lips and scolding her.

"You can't do that anymore. I don't want to hurt the baby with my weight. Don't give me that look. No matter what anyone told you, I think I can hurt him, and I won't even take the chance!"
The pregnant woman giggled softly as she leaned down to brush her lips along his jaw.

"I think it's incredibly sweet that you react like that. Even if you really wouldn't be able to hurt the baby this early, it's so..."

She couldn't finish her sentence because she was already crying again.

"Oh no, just come here. I remember that from Bella! She was a wreck most of her pregnancy, and she hated it!"

Hermione sobbed desperately into his chest. When she, after some time, started to breathe evenly again, he looked down and saw that she had fallen asleep. With a beaming smile, he laid the duvet over her and kissed her forehead.

When Draco entered the drawing room, where he expected his mother to be, he still couldn't hide his happiness. Narcissa though, didn't look very pleased. In fact, she looked angry.

"How dare you, Draco? Tomorrow, you will go back to Hogwarts! You've already stayed home longer than you were supposed to, and that had to come to an end. Just imagine what the dark lord will say if he finds out what you and the mudblood were doing! I swore to protect her and the child, and I will keep my promise. But I will no longer encourage this relationship!"

Bellatrix, who sat next to her, nursing her child, interjected.

"Calm down, Cissy! He knows about them, and he allowed it. Maybe you shouldn't interfere with the dark lord's decisions."

Her sister gasped.

"He allowed it? I thought he only allowed her to live so she could care for Delphini. And maybe, that Draco was just using her. I cannot imagine him, allowing my son, one of his own inner circle, to fall in love with her!"

Bella shrugged.

"I will tell him as soon as he returns. For now, stop making a fuss. If anyone hears about that, it will only get worse. Imagine someone spreading this information!"

Narcissa held her breath and gulped, then agreed.

"You're probably right. Draco, it will be for the dark lord to decide about the further fate of the mudblood."

"Can you please stop calling her that, mum? I didn't choose to fall for her. And I also don't think there's anything wrong with it. I give a shit about blood status or origin. I love Hermione, and I love our child. By the way, I also asked her to marry me and she agreed. So, from now on, I expect you to treat her with the same respect you would have treated Astoria with!"

Bellatrix cackled over his outburst, while Narcissa was about to cry when her husband entered the room.

"It's okay, Cissy. We're going to be fine. Draco has suffered enough over the last years because of our, especially my mistakes. Let him have his mudblood. We already are being laughed about and looked down on. How much more damage can this cause? All you do if you get angry at him for it is lose your son for good. So just hug him and tell him that you love him. It's not his fault." Lucius told her softly and pulled her into his arms to kiss her cheek.

His wife sighed and held out her arms for her son.

"Your father is right, come here!"

It was just at that moment that a deep, dangerous voice came from the hallway. Abraxas Malfoy barged into the drawing room, his face reddened from his fury and shouted.

"What do I have to hear? My grandson, knocking up a pathetic little mudblood? Lucius, Narcissa, haven't you taught your son anything?"

"Just shut your mouth, old man!" Bellatrix reprimanded him. "No matter who you think you are, you have no say in this house!"

The old man stared down at her, his eyes narrowed and spat.

"What is it you have to tell me, bitch? The times when the dark lord prefered you above all others are over since my son here screwed up big time. And even if you try to tell me that your sister in law comes right after him in the hierarchie, I don't give a shit about your lies!"

The new mother just stood up and brought her child away from the yelling, grabbing Draco's sleeve and pulling him with her.

"I need your help, lad!" She just ordered, and he followed her without another word. "Let them fight this fight for now. I am certain the dark lord will see to your grandfather soon!"
