The remaining week passed by rather quickly, Bella getting up early in the morning to take care of her child, then going down to Hermione and just as the dark lord had ordered her to do, they spent the first hours of the day together, having breakfast and trying to have normal conversations as if they weren't arch nemesis.

And to both women's astonishment, they got along pretty good, both being of a similar intelligence and therefore their interests went into the same directions. The only difference being of course that Bellatrix had more interests in dark arts and methods, while Hermione tried to do what she thought to be right.

The afternoons were for Bella alone, when the girl was taking care of her daughter and her husband was busy with achieving his evil goals. But the early evenings and most of the nights were filled with hours of love making, only interrupted by the occasional crying of Delphini.

The dark witch felt utter bliss when she thought about her life and how it had turned out to be. Even though she still considered the mudblood beneath her, she enjoyed their mornings together anyway, she relished in the spare time of the afternoons and she would have given both her legs to keep the extremely pleasing nightly activities going for the rest of her life.

But she also had a bad feeling deep in her stomach sometimes, when she was all alone. A feeling that something bad was about to happen.

And of course it wouldn't be much longer until all hell would break loose.

Voldemort was in a fit of rage and Bella had no idea what could have gotten him into this state. After their wedding and a few days of incredible lust filled honeymoon, they had come back into some routine, Bella being allowed to leave the mansion again and causing terror and havoc.

But at the very moment he seemed distraught and fuming at once and that scared her a lot.

"My lord." She pleaded. "What is it? How can I help?"

"You can't. Leave me alone." He spat and Bella quickly left his room, they had been sharing since being married.

She hurried down to Draco's bedroom, barging inside without knocking, finding Hermione on the bed, Delphini beside her, making funny noises with the baby who squealed and babbled back in a high voice. She couldn't hide the smile quick enough, so the mudblood wouldn't see it, but played over it and told the girl.

"Take Delphi and go to see Draco. Something is up and I want you in a safe place. Don't you dare get her into any kind of danger, do you hear me, mudbl…" She sighed, remembering her husband's orders to treat the young woman like an equal and corrected herself. "Hermione. Your only task right now is to get to safety, which in this case means Hogwarts. Snape is there and even if I still don't trust him, he obviously cares about Draco enough to want you to be safe too. I'll inform him about your arrival, go now!"

She leaned down and picked up her daughter, cuddling her to her chest and kissing her head.

"I'll see you as soon as your dad has calmed down or solved the actual issue. I love you very much. Be a good girl and don't make much of a fuss. You must stay hidden while you're in Hogwarts, okay?"

Bella whispered before placing the baby in Hermione's arms.

"Go, quick. And remember your promise to protect her."

She couldn't help it. After spending some time with the Gryffindor girl, she had become quite fond of her and though she would have never admitted that, she had enjoyed the time and secretly cared for her. So she placed her hand shortly on Hermione's shoulder and added a quiet.

"Be careful."

Then the dark witch left the room and went back to her own, sending a note via floo network to Severus Snape to inform him that the girl and her child were coming to Hogwarts.

The professor had barely received the message when Hermione and Delphi already appeared in the fireplace.

"I'm sorry to barge in here on such a short notice, but Bellatrix seemed really scared and wanted me to leave in an instant." She muttered with her head bent down.

Snape shook his head and walked towards the pale looking, pregnant woman.

"I just got her note, it's alright. You look ill, are you okay?"

Hermione shook her head.

"Travelling through the floo network makes me sick. But it'll pass soon. At least I hope it will."

Snape sighed and grabbed her arm as gently as he could.

"Come, I'll take you into my private rooms. There you can lie down until I've sent for Draco. Can you handle the baby or should I take over? Though I have no idea what to do with her, I certainly wouldn't want her to get hurt."

The last sentence sounded like a lie and Hermione pressed Delphini tauter to her chest.

"We're good. Thank you for being so kind."

"Why do you care for this child so much? You even risked your own life to save hers. She's the daughter of your enemies, yet you gave up everything to protect her. Well, maybe you gained something too, but…"

He didn't know how to end the sentence and looked at her expectantly.

Hermione shrugged.

"I'll tell you the same as I told the dark lord and Draco. She's innocent. No matter who her parents are, it's not her fault. She has the right to live a normal life and I'll do whatever I can do to make sure she gets that. Look at her. She's so sweet and pure, how could someone not love her right away?" She tried to explain.

The professor narrowed his eyes.

"I think your actual condition makes you feel all those things. Come, you can rest over there on the sofa. I'll send for Draco and have him come here. If something dangerous is happening outside the school, the dark lord will soon summon me too. And your 'husband' probably as well. So enjoy the time together as long as you can."
