once upon a time...
y/n swan had been on her side of the enchanted lake all morning, dancing freely through the privacy of her willow tree. it was her way of tuning everything out. her cousin, duchess, especially. she had a way of.. wrecking the vibe.
the only think that she could hear, however, was the sound of the water underneath her feet, and the music playing from her phone.
not two of her best friends forever after, raven and maddie, shuffling through the willow's hanging leaves, and the land's brightly colored flowers.
"see? i told you we'd find her here! peas and crackers." maddie's voice called out.
the sudden noise startled the girl, causing a honk to escape her throat. in a magic puff of lilac smoke, y/n changed form, into a majestic black swan.
raven sighed, followed by a soft laugh. "sorry, y/n! i tried to tell maddie not to yell on her way in."
"yeah.. sorry, n/n!" maddie apologized, pulling a teapot and cup of tea from her hat.
y/n swam over. once on land, magic swirled around her as she changed form again, back into a human. "it's okay, guys." she laughed, still slightly embarrassed. she twirled a strand of her black and white hair. "is it time to go already?" raven nodded.
y/n looked at her phone. it was time to go.
with a light groan, y/n put her phone back into her purse, and followed her friends out of the enchanted forest and into town.
the three caught up on their walk to school, telling their enchanting stories from their time away, and sharing conversations on what they think this school year would be like.
maddie was.. well, maddie.
y/n was already bored.
and raven wasn't exactly too enthusiastic about the year.
especially with legacy day fast approaching. and with apple being so persistent for raven to 'follow her destiny.'
it irritated y/n. she respected apple, truly. she even considered her to be a friend. but simply because she has the best happily ever after doesn't mean others do.
as the three walked across ever after high's bridge, y/n caught a glimpse of him.
dante charming.
the second oldest of the charming siblings.
and one of the most vexing boys she'd ever met. second only to sparrow hood.
but he was also the prettiest boy she'd ever met. second to no one.
his hair was on the border both of light and dark brown, a lone streak of baby blue littered the front. he wore the same charming color scheme as his siblings, though dante wore lighter blues like his younger sister, darling.
one of y/n's best friends.
dante smothered his smile, and turned his head at the thought of her. he was determined to solve to puzzle known as y/n swan and get to know the real her.
across the way, y/n simply rolled her eyes and continued to walk with her friends.
little did she know, things between the two of them were going to change.
