Vena had mostly kept busy the next morning cleaning up, something she often did to help take stress off of her mother, but it helped pass time all the same. She showered after, being sure to take her time, doing her entire routine despite usually hating it.
This time, it was for a new reason. Not to go out with Rae, or her mother, or for herself. But for a boy.
An unfamiliar emotion pinged in the pit of her stomach, making her stop her motions of slathering conditioner in her hair as she frowned.
She was technically going on a date tonight.
With a boy.
With a boy who may or may not be stalking her.
Who may or may not be a murderer too. She couldn't say she knew much about him at all.
How else was she going to learn, though?
Shrugging off the thought, she continued, finishing up her entire process and getting ready for the skincare routine next.
Of course she had to go all out, this was her first real date. It was a foreign feeling, but the anxiety almost sent a thrill up her spine regardless.
Whatever, don't we all have our secrets? There were things even Xiao didn't know about her, so could she really hold his own secrets against him? Maybe they could come to a mutual understanding and end up sharing those, who knows.
All she knew for sure was she was tired of not knowing, and if the path to answers meant jumping in head first... then so be it.
There was also no denying the feeling she'd get whenever he was around, and she needed more of it, despite the looming darkness surrounding him.
After her skincare routine was complete, it was time to start on makeup.
Clicking the 'play' button on her pc, her playlist began blaring from her speakers. Since she was alone, that was often something she did, especially when starting the long process of makeup. It took her a little while to decide on the look she wanted to do, but in the end she decided to play it safe and just do her typical 'going out' look, which was mostly dark eyeshadow, winged liner and thick lashes.
Thankfully, her skin was clear and fair, so she often didn't even use foundation or contour, usually saving her some time when it came to getting ready to leave the house.
Right, they were supposed to share songs with each other too. She had no idea what his plans were tonight, but she figured they'd be driving at some point, and maybe have some time to play music. Should she try and find some of her favorites just in case?
Once her make up was done, she plopped down into her office chair for a moment, deciding to create a new playlist and put in a few songs she thought he'd maybe enjoy, while also some of her favorites to see what he thought of them.
Knowing she couldn't spare much time, she clicked through a few of her main playlists, adding a song here and there to the new one.
What do I name this playlist so I remember what it is..?
Fingers tapped lightly on the keys yet without actually pressing anything, Vena pondered a few ideas in her head, smiling when a good one finally popped up as her fingers smoothly glided across the keyboard.
That was enough for now, surely he'd share a few too so at least she was prepared if the opportunity came up tonight.
Practically skipping over to her closet, the girl began rummaging through the various garments, trying to find the exact pieces she'd been thinking of all day as she sang along to the song currently playing.
