Alongside the eastern coast, in a small vibrant city far away from the capital, stood one of the best campus in the country. Well actually, second best, right after the ones in the capital. Rightfully named the ocean campus for its proximity to the sea, maybe that was what made it all the more attractive to the youth, offering a peaceful and sweet way of living. Walking on the beach and making campfires, swimming at night with your friends, always enjoying the sea breeze and healing every time you heard the waves gently crashing on the shore... One could only understand why so many teenagers wished to go and stay there.
However, that was not the case for Jisung. Born in the town, he had always come to school there, whether he wanted to or not. After spending his whole life in this town, he still had grown fond of the place and when his friends and him had to apply to universities at the end of high school, they did not really think of anything apart from the ocean campus. In a way, they had always loved living near the water, and the grey, overpopulated and polluted capital disgusted most of them. And well, the campus was still held to very high standards: home to many different schools and classes, with subjects going from medicine to arts or technology, and courses listed amongst the very best of the country.
Jisung had enrolled in the arts and entertainment course three years ago, which meant he had to specialize next year but, he was more doubtful than ever. He had always wanted to work in the music industry ever since he was a child. His parents often found him not sleeping at night, endlessly writing lyrics for songs even if he still ignored everything regarding music production; whether it be composing, arranging or sound editing...
Writing had become his oxygen to breathe, essential for him to release every emotion trapped in his mind: no matter what happened in his life, you could be sure he was going to write about it someday. But for the past few years, his inspiration had faded day by day, ultimately sinking his once creative brain in a never-ending slump. A deep, cursed and sickening writer's block that had been rotting inside of him for too long. And if he did his best to hold on for the first years, now his will had declined. He just wanted his old self back.
And so, he contemplated his life choices as he lived the same day over and over again. He had felt stuck in an endless, repetitive and looping routine for too long now. The classes he once enjoyed had become dull, the excitement of discovering something new had faded into boredom of hearing the same facts over and over again. He was a smart boy, in fact one of the smartest of the campus, and nothing challenged his intellect anymore. But all of this would have been bearable if inspiration had not left him, if he could still write. The dull reality of his life had become this unbearable weight on his shoulder, crushing him down to drown in confusion and despair, as he only wished to escape.
But, you see, no one really knew that about him.
Lunchtime had finally come over the campus as Jisung sat alone in the gigantic swarming cafeteria of the university. It could receive about a thousand students at the same time and from any bystander who did not know him, it could have looked pitiful a little bit. Alone amidst the crowd. But it was far from the truth.
Believe it or not, Jisung was actually one of the most popular boys on campus. He had become everyone's heartthrob and crush: the ultimate campus boyfriend. It did not matter whether you were a boy or a girl, you either adored him or despised him out of jealousy.
Every year, he received dozens of letters for Saint-Valentine's day and many students wanted to talk to him or blushed when they made eye contact in the hallways, no matter if they were in the same class or not. But his popularity did not surprise anyone: he was just too handsome.
Long hair cornering his face and highlighting his smooth golden skin, big brown sweetness-infused boba eyes... His smile brightened even the darkest room instantly and his sexiness exploded through the roof every time he focused, playing with the pencil in between his lips... Add on to that a nice hip sense of fashion and some toned muscles, yeah... he had everyone on their knees. Two years ago, a girl had actually fainted at the library when he put on glasses in front of her and, on that day, his legend on campus was born.
