The images from his nightmare kept looping in Jisung's head as he detached his arm from the drip, desperate to find Minho as soon as possible. Despite his bruised stomach hurting him when he sat straight, he was careful to get up slowly and silently to not wake any of his friends up. If they ever woke up, they would put him back to bed instantly, letting his mind crumble under his never-ending anxious thoughts about Minho. And he would not survive them.
He shivered from the cold ground below his feet and the air entering his gown, suddenly remembering he was almost naked underneath. But to hell with embarrassment and discomfort when his heart raced in his chest, screaming at him to find Minho, terrified to believe his nightmare could be real.
He calmed his breathing as much as he could, trying to think on what to do. He had to find Minho but where was he? How could he even guess? The hospital was gigantic, his friends had to take two different elevators and walk about ten minutes to find him. It would take him all night to pass in front of every room in the hospital, but he had to start somewhere. And if he did not find Minho, then it would make a nice walk to calm down his thoughts. Great...
His eyes laid on the visitor's pass in Changbin's hand, the older's fingers loose enough for Jisung to steal the card. A few tiny steps led him in front of his friend and he stopped breathing as he took the pass, hoping with everything he got that no one would wake up or else they would forbid him to even think of leaving his room. Changbin shifted in his sleep, startling Jisung who froze instantly, before understanding the older was still deeply asleep.
With the pass now in his hand, he took a few steps back and finally breathed again. He gulped down when he saw his friends all sleeping around his bed, exhausting from rescuing him. Changbin laid back on the chair, Felix's head resting on his lap as he was sitting on the floor, Seungmin sat against the wall, his head falling to the side as Hyunjin slept on the floor next to him. Jisung was sorry, sorry to have his friends worried to the point of staying the night here despite not having any bed, sorry to leave his friends sleeping alone in his room in these conditions, but he could not live with that gut feeling any longer, with that fear growing inside of him. Was his dream premonitory? No, it could not be...
Determined to find Minho, he left the room as silently as he got up, successfully not waking up anyone. It was still night and the corridors were all empty, not even a nurse was roaming around to potentially bring him back to his room. Easier to find Minho's bed, right? He tried to look at the few rooms around him, pacing down the endless corridors in one way, and then the other, but he never found any sign of the older. Of course.
His search was interrupted when he heard voices coming from the corridor right next to him. He hid behind the wall, careful to not get caught by any doctors, but it turned out to be just two nurses talking to each other, not caring about anything else apart their conversation. They left to quickly grab a drink at the coffee machine, and when the silence finally returned, Jisung stepped back into the light.
He looked at the direction the nurses were talking from and noticed a central desk at the end of the hallway, and on top of it, a computer. Bingo! He rushed after making sure no one lurked in the dark, and luckily for him, the computer was still logged in. He struggled a bit on the hospital operating system but quickly found a search bar for patients. He typed down Minho's name as fast as he could.
Level 3: Room 435
Finally an answer! But despite his will to find Minho as quickly as possible and his fear that the nurses would soon be coming back, he had not expected Minho's medical report to be available to read. He hesitated for a few seconds, not sure if it was morally right to look at someone's medical information without their consent. But, at the same time, he was not a stranger to Minho. They knew each other, trusted each other. Fuck, at some point they even loved each other... He needed to know what had happened to him, he needed to know why he fell unconscious to the ground.
