Autumn had faded into Winter and the more time passed, the more Minho and Jisung spent it together. They still studied together after class, but now they talked about anything but lessons. Their sole need had become to know everything about the other and so they spent hours asking each other the most stupid questions.
Favorite color, food, songs, every basic preference was discussed and they soon realized how similar they were. And so, they quickly became extremely close. They felt like they had always known each other, and if they had felt comfortable together before, now they were even more...
They spent most of their time together, often at Jisung's place, watching new animes together or just talking about anything. Minho slept on the couch some times, but he often came back to his room on campus, trying to not impose himself in the younger's life. But Jisung loved spending time with him and only wished for him to stay.
They developed a love for teasing each other and playfully flirted at almost any chance they got. They did not hesitate to hold arms or put their arm behind the other when they were sitting close. Jisung was actually more physical than Minho who mainly accepted the skin contacts, loving the younger's touches. Their genuine bond was no secret to anyone around them; even the bullies who had stopped interacting with them, left only with their anger still rotting deep inside them.
But nothing had much changed with the friend. They had kept their habits; Minho still ate with the group and tensions had gradually eased between him and them, especially with Seungmin. They started studying dance history in class and Minho was for once the most gifted student in the room. He had helped Seungmin understand quite a few things, earning the younger's trust. And finally, Seungmin had changed his opinion on him, maybe he was not as bad as he first thought.
Minho was actually getting quite close to all of them, but even more so to Hyunjin and Felix as the two had become quite interested in dancing. So, he educated them and taught them a few cool moves. But still he did not tell them he was in a dance academy, not willing to hear anyone's opinions on his choices. He knew how the friends loved debates... and he did not want to be their new fixation.
Still, it felt good for Minho to finally have friends, people to talk to and laugh with. He now trusted Jisung entirely, and it was reciprocated. The younger had told him some things he had never told anyone, maybe because he was a great listener and Jisung still felt the same peace of mind around him as he did that night after the attack. They could not be more at peace as December had settled in town.
One day, Jisung and his friends were walking downtown in the cold and windy weather, desperately looking for a birthday gift. They had been invited to a huge birthday party of one of their close friends but they could only see Christmas gift offers in every store. They just could not give him pine tree socks or a reindeer sweatshirt, right?
"Honestly, it's so sad to be born in December...", Hyunjin pointed out as they all agreed.
"It's not even that easier to find gifts", Changbin replied and well, they agreed too.
They had visited many stores but had not found one interesting gift for their friend. In the end, they had lost hope of finding an original gift and went to a gaming store to find the newly released game their friend wanted.
"Let's hope nobody else buys it to him", Jisung worried. It was really the best option they had but they knew he had talked about the game to other people.
"Whatever, he'll just change it if he doesn't like it", Seungmin replied, tired of their quest. And to his friends right now, after hours of unsuccessful shopping, he was right. He was so right.
They succeeded in their mission but looking for a gift all afternoon had completely drained their energy. It was getting dark already when they left the store but somehow, they did not want to go home. They wanted to hang around for a bit, just staying together for some more time.
