The weekend had finally come and that could only mean one thing: movie night time! The friends had all gathered at Jisung's place and, if his apartment was quite small, it still had a cozy and eerie feel, mainly because he had a huge fluffy carpet and way too many blankets spread over his couch as well as lots of little starry lights on the walls, bathing the room in a comfortable yet intimate atmosphere.
And well, he had tried to clean as much as he could but his shoes and clothes still laid a bit everywhere. And in all aspects, it looked like a student flat. Well, except for his television. Jisung did not mess with it as he spent many hours alone watching series and animes on it. The 65-inch screen was a need and now you understand why his friends wanted to come specifically to his place for movie nights. He did save up for it though, that's why you work during summer, right?
The friends had spent their afternoon studying before ordering pizza for the night. They drank a few beers while listening to music, happily enjoying their week-end. But peace never lasted long, and soon they were debating on which movie to watch and, as usual, they disagreed.
"Come on, we agreed yesterday!" Hyunjin whined.
"Yeah but two people here absolutely hate horror movies.", Changbin replied, looking at Felix and Jisung.
"Hey he likes them" Hyunjin pointed at Jisung who had no time to say anything that Changbin was already speaking again.
"Well he can't handle them so... I'm not staying the night to help them sleep, remember last time?" Changbin stated, looking at Felix. Jisung was indeed a fan of horror movies or stories, and he did have some trouble sleeping after watching them, but it was nothing like Felix.
Felix had always been too sensitive. He never wanted to be a burden to anyone so he acted strong and unaffected but, after one of their movie nights last year, Changbin had no other option than to stay and soothe him to sleep. He had been so scared he kept having nightmares for a week afterwards and ended up sleeping in the same bed as his roommate, Hyunjin. And well it got better now, but sometimes he still remembered that creepy clown's face...
"It's ok, I'll close my eyes if it's too much. Hyunjin said it's not that scary anyway.", Felix put up a bit of an act again, but he dreaded that movie. Still, he thought it would be a great occasion to grow and overcome his fear, or well he tried to convince himself.
But Changbin did not buy it, and they kept on arguing while Seungmin focused on Jisung, lost in his thoughts, again. He had seen him like that a bit last year but ever since classes had resumed in September, he was always like that. And he could fool the rest of the group, try and act like everything was fine, but not him. He could read Jisung like an open book and if he had never found the occasion to talk with him about it, well maybe today he could.
The doorbell rang, startling Jisung who got up to grab the pizzas that just arrived. Seungmin followed closely behind and snatched the pizzas from Jisung's hands, putting them on the kitchen table before leading a surprised Jisung out of the apartment. "We need to talk."
"Where are you going?" Changbin stopped the debate for a second as he watched them stepping outside.
"We'll be back in 5 minutes, eat if you're hungry" Seungmin replied as he closed the door.
Jisung got stung a bit by the low temperatures, it was October the next day, and the nights were getting cold again. His stress rose a bit as he wondered what was wrong with Seungmin, what he wanted to tell him but, deep inside, his heart knew the reason.
Seungmin was the one who knew him the most, he only needed a simple glance to understand what was going on in his brain. And Jisung knew he looked off ever since they came back, he could feel his friend's eyes scanning him and wondering, it was only bound to happen... He did not like the idea of talking about it now, but again, when would he actually want to tell anyone? Even if his mind had not fully grasped what he needed yet, he had no other choice than to figure it out as he saw Seungmin in front of him, arms crossed, not ready for any bullshit.
