tw: bullying, mentions of suicide

════🥀 ════

It had already been more than thirty minutes, but still Minho and Jisung had not moved an inch on the couch. They sat in silence, comfortable with each other's presence and enjoying some healing time none of them could have ever hoped for. And maybe at the beginning they were overthinking about each other, about what was going inside the other's head, but soon their minds eased and they unconsciously calmed down together.

Jisung thought he would fall asleep but, for some unknown reason, he eventually did not. Maybe because he was next to Minho. And well he could have enjoyed the silence a little longer but Minho's lips were burning with the same question ever since he stepped into the apartment. He tried to fight himself, to not burden Jisung with problems again, but he could not resist asking. He needed to know.

"How are you feeling?", he spoke softly, keeping the atmosphere as quiet and peaceful as he could. "You didn't come today."

Jisung sighed, looking away from Minho. Deep inside, he knew it was coming, that he could never escape it. After all, Minho was human still. He worried and he cared about him, just like his friends did.

He did not want to admit how weak he had been, but Minho had seen the fight with the bullies. He had chosen to help him ever since and he felt like he could trust him. He had every right to know, maybe he was the only one who had the right to know.

"I wanted to come this morning... I was on my way but people were already talking about me and I wasn't even on campus." He said, staring at the ground. "I don't know, it was too much, I didn't want to deal with this today, so I just came back home like a loser."

"I don't think you're a loser for that", he stared at him intensely, trying to get an eye-contact from the younger.

Jisung shrugged his shoulder, unsure, but smiled lightly to himself right after. It felt good to have someone by his side. Yes, his friends were there, but it was just not the same. They had always been there, but it was all new with Minho, he was not used to any of it after all that mean and cold behavior from the older.

"You know, Seungmin was worried about you...", the older added, remembering how he stormed out of the campus to come to his place. He guessed he had come, seeing Jisung's guilty face as soon as he spoke out his name.

"Yeah... I know", he simply said, looking at Minho. "He came here after class."

Minho could feel something was wrong, that there was something more, some secret the group of friends kept preciously to themselves. He had picked up a few clues when Seungmin almost fought him after the taekwondo tournament, and now again. Seeing how anxious he was, just because Jisung missed school one day... Yeah, that troubled his mind quite a lot.

"But, he was really worried. He probably would've had nightmares about you if he slept in class today", he started, observing Jisung's reactions. "I mean I get it, you were not feeling good and not really answering, but worrying that much... that's why he's your best friend, I guess."

Jisung kept staring at the ground, guilt overtaking him again as he thought of what Seungmin had gone through for him. Today, and all the days before that.

"It's almost as if he was scared something might happen...", Minho finally added, voicing what had been on his mind ever since he saw Seungmin's extreme reactions.

His voice died as he observed Jisung who remained silent, pondering if he should just tell him everything, open up completely to the older and trust him. But was he worthy of his trust? They were still fighting two days ago. Yes maybe, but still he was here now, supporting and helping him.
