The Nowhere Generation, and their accompaniment of Hirano and Alpha, heard as sounds of combat grew in the distance, and a cacophony of simultaneous screams reverberated through the countryside. They had found the fleeing Chimera once more. Sounds of mana exploding and trees being splintered was joined by cries of pain and slamming masses... most likely the tendrils of the utterly viscous Chimera.

As the warriors grew closer, they looked down at a drop... a sizable hillside. Behind them, Alpha ran forward, her sword orbiting above her head now, aimed at the origin of the sounds. She threw out her arm, and the trees which obscured their view were cleaved right into two, leaving the remaining fighters atop the hill with a gruesome sight. A caravan of carts, drawn by both horses and scarred, brutalized Chimera, were smashed to bits, about two dozen carts having been stopped as their occupants and owners were brought out to fight. Alpha joined the fray, and as the trail came into view, Andrei felt his blood flare up. "Alright. We've got him for sure now, especially if we have support like this."

A red flash came from beneath his footing, and Andrei was off after the Chimera as well, hitting the ground in a full sprint as Alpha landed above him. Wounded physically, Inoshishi held something even closer to himself as he stepped forward, his pride. The red-clad soldier slid down the hill alongside his brother, causing Saionji and Shimoda to exchange a glance before following. "Yeah... we can kill it." Saionji muttered to herself, mostly a self-reassurement. Finally came Hirano, who vanished into a puff of smoke and appeared once more as a bat.

Behind their inhuman cohorts, Inoshishi and Hattori stopped short as a number of unarmed people fled towards them. They shouldered one, causing the person to stumble. Looking back, the person's eyes were filled with terror... and their heads were topped with inhuman ears... something almost fox-like.

Shimoda and Saionji ran past the brothers, but they too began to realize that these people were less than they initially expected. A group of warriors with swords and loose clothing beneath light wooden and leather armors flew towards a familiar mass of tendrils, though something was off about them. Streaks of golden blonde and white hair flew behind them... tails? The twin warriors drew their weapons, Saionji her rapier and Shimoda his sword. The two prepared to attack, but were struck with awe as Andrei scrambled past them in an almost animalistic fashion, and Alpha soared overhead with a single leap.

Hirano watched as the fox-people scrambled for safety, and the vampire drew his sickle as a tendril came his way. The innocent beastkin took cover behind Hirano, and the vampire hissed as the assault drew closer. Cocking back a swing, he prepared a spell under his breath. "Frost...-" He muttered, his breath growing cold.

His sickle coated itself with ice, and the wind began to blow his cloak and wraps as he channeled an amount of mana which dwarfed the new victims of the Chimera by all possible means. Ice froze the ground around his feet, and he swung upwards at the incoming tendril. "- Javelin!!" Hirano shouted, the ice from the ground and from his blade both coming forward at once and meeting in the air as it spiked upwards.

The tendril writhed in sudden agony as a small iceberg appeared from the ground, now stained red with a steady stream of blood. The unarmed people behind Hirano gasped, and he took a moment to glance back before he heard the ice begin to crack. Jumping back and ducking down, he slid across the ground as the tendril flew over his head, throwing off his hood and revealing his vampiric nature. His eyes glistened red in the moonlight, and his pale lips held a solemn grimace. "The hell-? It broke through?" Hirano grunted.

From beside Hirano, a man with a large hat and a cloak covering said hat lunged forwards with a curved sword. The ornate-looking blade gleamed in the moonlight and the fire of the few broken carts, and a unique sort of energy radiated from it. The foxy man swung upwards, then down with inhuman speed, and Hirano recovered himself before lunging back at the tendril, only for it to be dismembered before he could strike again. "What? Who-... Who are you?" He asked, not fully expecting an answer.
