Watching from the ground, the proud Okuri of the Inu Clan stood below the girl who had realized her potential now. It was something that brought a smile to his lips. His aura protected him from the razor-sharp winds which had resulted from the aftermath of the draconic emerald projection, and he readied his sword in a more professional stance, looking up to the clash of light and dark. "Absolutely elegant, Saionji Akoto..." He growled, still grinning as the good-hearted maniac that he seemed to be.

As the clash came to an end, and the emerald light of the dragon began to fade, the grafted beast, not to be considered nearly as elegant as that which Saionji had conjured forth, fell to the ground. So too did the girl, her body locking up at the joints and her muscles numb as she reached her upper limit. "Allow me to pick up where you've left off!" Okuri now shouted, leaping into action as his aura flared up, the calm blue flames of his passion creating an outline which drew attention to him now.

He howled, leaping into the air to catch the grafted dragon as it fell, and to catch Saionji... Though when he locked eyes on where she should have been in the sky, a flash of green appeared to sweep her away. The cat-burglar, Suzuko Orio, had caught her. The wolf-man bared his fangs in a hearty smile now and reassessed the situation. As the two girls traveled further and further from him, he now realized that here, in the sky, he didn't need to risk the injury of any of his allies. With that realization, he howled to the moon which now seemed to grow so much closer to him, and he began to spin in the air as he drew back his sword arm, raising it over his head as the calm blues of his aura began to spread out, surpassing limits he had not felt the need to utilize for some time, and he felt a glint of cold blue ice catch in his eyes as they too began to radiate ki. "Demon of the rat-king...!" Okuri shouted, taking in a deep breath as his aura began to envelop the beast.

As it was fully ensnared in the bewildering pressure of the ki aura, the grafted monster seemed to wake from its temporary unconsciousness. Writhing wildly, the thing began to unbind itself at the very seams from the sheer force of the exertion within its own body. Okuri watched as small tendrils of melting flesh began to reveal themselves, like the nerves of one's body trying to break free from their own bounds. "... Prepare to die." The man shouted coldly, barely over the wicked shrieking before him.

Bringing down his sword, the torso of the horribly mangled amalgamation was split by the exertion of ki from the weapon, and thousands of shrill screams ushered forth small, hair-like growths to writhe and strain to rebind the thing's wounds. Before it could do so, and as they drew closer to the ground, Okuri grabbed the flayed patchwork of flesh, digging his claws deep and pulled with all his ch'i-infused might. "If I cannot have the head of Raigo-Nezumi himself, then yours will make a fine replacement!" He snarled, slamming the thing downwards and into the wide street below before bringing back up his sword once more in the air.

The force of his slam causing him to spin, he almost looked to be a cannonball in the sky as he dove downwards. The thick, crushing blade smashed into the exposed skull of the grafted demon below him, splitting bone which had attempted to regenerate and leaving the thing's half-formed maw hanging by the muscles in its cheeks. Still reeling from the sudden drop in pressure, the thing tried to take flight, but quite simply couldn't.

At the caravan, a wounded Shimoda struggled with his sword in one hand. The cat, Phanes, clung to his back. Behind him, the fox-woman Mother-Hand held her wailing child beside a number of helpless merchants... those of whom had hoped to steer clear of the cross-fire of the battle raging further ahead. "Get back damnit! And cat- what the hell are you...?!" He gritted his teeth and ignored the thing behind him as Hirano Sotaro, his mentor, the mysterious vampire, lunged forth from deep within the group. "H-Hirano-! You're more wounded than I am, you get out of here too! I can handle this!"
