(Btw this is how I've always pictured Lia, so here she is lol)
Iris's P.O.V
After my phone call with Brendon last night, everything felt... lighter. It felt so good to get... most things off of my chest. When I checked my phone, I of course had numerous text messages and missed calls from Brendon like I knew I would.
My phone was on silent the whole night and I didn't even realize it. I probably would've answered at least one text from Brendon if it wasn't. I'm still contemplating if I should start talking to him regularly again.
I was so terrified of what could possibly happen if I did. Ian terrified me so much. But I also thought about what Lia said. He could've gave up. The feeling of being watched subsided more and more each day I was here in Laughlin, almost completely at this point. Ian probably doesn't have the mental capacity to keep up stalking for this long.
When I got out of my bed, I went out of my room and to the kitchen. I noticed there was already a pot of coffee made on the counter. I looked over into the living room and saw there was a mug on the coffee table but no Lia. I turned back around and started making myself a cup when I heard the bathroom door open.
I turned around and leaned against the counter, putting the cup to my lips, taking a small sip as I watched Lia come out, grabbing her cup. She looked over at me and came into the kitchen, standing beside me.
"How'd you sleep?" Lia asked.
"I slept alright." I answered.
"Any new nightmares?" She asked.
"No, thank god. I hate how they can choose when to come and go. It's like my brain picks the worst times for me to get them." I said.
"Yeah, it seems like they like to do that." She said.
"Have you thought anymore about what we talked about last night?"I let out a deep breath and sat my coffee on the counter behind me.
"I did. And I ended up calling him." I answered.
"You did?" She asked shocked.
"I did. I think it went well... mostly." I said.
"What do you mean mostly?" She asked.
"I mean I told him it wasn't safe for me to be there anymore, just not why." I said. "But, he did say something that caught me completely off guard."
"What?" Lia asked.
"He asked if I ran off with the guy I saw in Miami." I told her.Lia's face filled with confusion as she looked down at the floor then back up again at me quickly.
"Riss, I didn't tell him anything about that." She defended herself.
"I wasn't saying you did, it was just weird that he knew about that." I told her.
"There was two other people on that trip with you." Lia said.
"Brendon hardly talks to Simon, so that only leaves one other person who could've told him." I thought out loud.
"Well, there ya go." Lia said, sipping on her coffee.
"I don't know what I'm gonna do. My life is such a wreck." I sighed.
Lia sat her cup on the counter behind her and grabbed my shoulders, turning me to face her.
"I'll tell you what we're going to do." She said. "We're gonna go shopping for some hot ass outfits, have a nice ass dinner and then we're going to go out and celebrate
you leaving that sorry ass job and forget about our problems for awhile." She pep talked me.
