Iris's P.O.V

The lines on the road became blurry the longer I drove. The ride itself was only an hour and a half but, it felt way longer. I had made a pit stop and grabbed some snacks and an energy drink to keep me awake but, the little energy it did give me was fading.

Even though I had slept pretty much all day, my body was still exhausted from the vigorous dancing and alcohol last night. I knew that I wouldn't be drinking for awhile.

I finally saw the infamous 'Welcome to Las Vegas' sign as all of the lights blinded me and welcomed me at the same time. As I kept driving towards Lia's house, I saw Vegas Lights Casino in the distance and all of its' memories that it held came back to me.

Meeting Richard for the first time, and Tracey. Meeting Brendon. God, it still feels like yesterday when I was in his office, a ball of nerves, hoping that I could get the job that I had wanted so desperately.

Before I even realized it, I was pulling into the full parking lot and staring up at the tall building. I shut off my car after finding a free parking spot and got out swiftly. I looked down at myself and realized I was way underdressed, but I didn't really care. I was hoping that maybe Richard was working tonight.

Once I made it to the front, I went in through the revolving doors and almost immediately was approached by a man in all black.

"You can't be in here dressed like that." The man said to me with his hands behind his back.
I looked down at my less than stellar outfit choice and quickly looked back at him.
"I'm sorry. Coming here was a... spur of the moment decision." I told him.
"Regardless of your poor decision making, you still can't be in here." The man said rudely.
"Are you serious right now?" I scoffed "Who do you think you are to talk to me like that?"
"Security." He simply said as he tried grabbing my arm to escort me out.

I struggled against him as I tried to free my arm from his grasp that kept tightening as we inched closer to the doors. He almost had me completely out until a deep voice came from behind us.

"Iris?" I heard a familiar voice say.
The security guard, still holding onto my arm, stepped aside just enough for me to see Richard's face. He looked like he had just seen a ghost. The security guard looked at Richard then back at me.
"You know her, sir?" The man asked with a puzzled look.
"I do." He replied with his eyes still on me, shock covering his face. "Let her go, she's okay here."

The security guard finally let go of my arm before apologizing and returning to where he was originally posted. I gave him one last glance before looking in Richard's direction again. My eyes immediately softened at his comforting presence.

Richard then took a few steps forward in my direction with his mouth slightly agape.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, puzzled at my sudden return.
I took a deep breath in and let it out again.
"I'm here...for a lot of reasons." I said, not sure where to even start.
"Well, uh, would you like to come up? I'd love to catch up with you, Iris." Richard asked.
"Yeah, that sounds nice." I smiled.
