Brendon's P.O.V

Today, I finally decided to shave off this rug on my face. I started to become tired of it, it was always so itchy, no matter how much I scratched or combed it. It wasn't a clean shave but, it was good enough for now.

It was another step in the right direction to get me out of my funk anyway. It hasn't been easy to say the least, but over time it started to become more manageable.

Ever since I spoke to Iris over the phone, it gave me a new energy I didn't think I had in me. I had the day planned out ahead of me for the first time in a while.

Go into work, get things done, and then go do what I love doing. Playing music at Freedom Beat. Any free time that I get, I'm there. Although I'm still drinking, it's nothing like it was. I'm not day drinking and passing out by five.

I got dressed in a white t-shirt and some black jeans. I've been keeping things very casual. No fancy suits or anything like that. I haven't made it that far in my healing.

Once I gave my hair a quick comb, I left my bathroom and went downstairs to be met by Maria in the kitchen.

"Oh, good morning Mr. Urie. I have breakfast made for you." She said as she placed a plate in front of me.

The plate included waffles decorated with different fruits and bacon on the side. Soon after she put the plate in front of me, a cup of coffee appeared in front of me as well.

I instantly grabbed it and went for a sip, not caring about how hot it may be.
"Thank you, Maria." I said with a small smile.
"You look great this morning, Mr.Urie." Maria said to me with a big smile.
"Thank you. Figured it was time to get rid of all this." I said as I circled my hands around my face.
"Well, is there anything specifically you need done today?" Maria asked.
"No, I don't think so. Just have Louis come around in about thirty minutes to pick me up." I said and I started digging into my food.
"I'll do that now." She said before walking out of the kitchen.

I grabbed my phone from my back pocket and placed it on the counter next to my plate, unlocking it. I scrolled through my contacts coming across Julian. Which reminded me that I needed to get into contact with him to see how construction is going for Vegas Lights in Miami. I'll do that when I go into work.

I kept scrolling, coming upon Amelia's contact. I pressed the call button and pressed my phone against my ear, having my head hold it as I continued to eat.

After a few rings, she answers.
"Yes, Brendon?" She huffs.
"Amelia. How's your morning going?" I asked her.
"It was going fine. I'm at work, what do you need?" She asked impatiently.
"After all this time, you still have to ask that question?" I said to her.
"Brendon, now really isn't a good time." Lia said.
"I just want to know how she is." I said lowly.
"She's fine. I gotta get back to work now."

Lia hung up leaving me to myself again. At this point I wasn't surprised. I put my phone back on the counter and kept eating my food until my plate was empty.
