Iris's P.O.V
I had my head in my hands while Jason drove through the busy streets. Sitting there feeling like an absolute idiot for going up there and letting him see me.
"I swear I didn't know he was going to be there, Iris." Lia said, turned around to face me.
"I believe you. I just can't believe how incredibly stupid that was of me." I said to her.
"We're almost home." Jason spoke up from the drivers seat.
"Thank god." I mumbled.Jason pulled inteo the driveway not too long after and put the car in park. I got out in a haste and went up to the porch and waited for one of them to unlock the door.
With my arms crossed, I watched Lia and Jason come up the stairs and stand next to me. She wrapped her arm around my shoulder as Jason opened the door. Lia then walked me inside and over to the couch and sat down with me.
"Well, time to order some pizza." Jason said while walking to the kitchen.
Lia glared at him for a moment before returning her eyes to me.
"You okay?" She asked.
"Yeah. I think so." I replied. "I just don't know what I was thinking."
"You know what I'm about to say is super cheesy right?" Lia said, cracking a smile.
"I would expect nothing less."
"The heart wants what it wants." She said trying to lighten the mood.
"Lia, what am I going to do?" I asked her, ignoring her remark.
"I don't think there's anything you can do." She replied. "Unless you were to leave right now. But, something tells me you don't want to."I just sighed and slumped further into the couch, trying to make myself disappear. Lia tried comforting me the best that she could but unfortunately, it wasn't doing much.
I loved seeing Brendon, don't get me wrong. I just wished he didn't see me. I knew this was a possibility when I decided to come here. I just didn't know that it could happen so soon.
It was also a very real possibility that Ian was still lurking around somewhere. As crazy as it sounds, I could feel it. I just felt like I was putting everyone in danger, and if something were to happen, the guilt would be too much. I looked over at Lia and gave her a small smile.
"I'm gonna go get changed real quick." I said to her while getting up from the couch.I went over to my suitcase and grabbed some pajama pants and a plain t-shirt and went to the bathroom to get changed. As I was getting changed, I heard a knock at the front door. Finally, I'm basically starving at this point.
As soon as I opened the door, I heard arguing coming from the living room. I stepped out a little further into the hallway and heard that it was Lia and... Brendon? What the hell is he doing here? I walked silently next to the wall and heard the voices become clearer.
"I know it was her, Amelia." Brendon said.
"You're being delusional, Brendon. It wasn't her!" Lia retorted back.I snuck my way up further and was able to get a small view of them without showing myself.
