Iris's P.O.V
"Have I told you about how Jason and I went to this dinner party for my work and he made a fool of himself?" Lia asked from the front seat, looking back at me.
"I don't think so but, do tell." I said positioning myself closer to the middle of them both and giving Jason a smirk.
"Come on L, don't do that to me." Jason glanced at Lia with a look of desperation.
"Anyway." Lia started. "We were all sitting there, drinking wine and eating you know, typical dinner stuff and somehow, someway, Jason here managed to spill his wine on like four other people's dinner. One of them being Donatella herself."
"No you didn't." I said before covering my mouth.
"Oh, he did, and it gets better." Lia said. "He was rushing and trying to clean up everyone's plates, the cloth on the table and in the process, dumped Donatella's wine on her! Riss, I thought for sure I was going to be fired."
"What happened?" I asked her.
"She laughed about it. Specifically, Jason's clumsiness and nervousness. She, for some reason, loved it."
"That's insane. I don't think I would've pegged her to be that understanding." I admitted.
"Me either but, she definitely was, thankfully."
"I was so scared that I had just cost L her job. I was basically begging her to not fire her." Jason said with his eyes still on the road.
"She assured him that wasn't going to happen though. As she said, she didn't want to lose one of her best people." Lia smiled proudly.
"Okay Lia, look at you." I shoved her arm playfully and sat further back into my seat, seeing Jason pull into a parking lot across from a restaurant.
"Where are we?" I asked as I grabbed my wallet from the other side of the car.
"Freedom Beat." Jason said. The name caught my attention immediately. I remember when Lia, Brendon, and I came here for their all day breakfast one afternoon. Brendon had actually gotten up on stage and sung a couple songs. He did amazing as always.
We all were out of the car in no time and looked both ways before crossing the street to enter the restaurant. I didn't hear any music playing unfortunately. It would've been nice to hear some live music while I ate with my friends.
It did seem that traffic was picking up inside the restaurant as many people were flooding in behind us. Thankfully we got here when we did.
Soon we were seated in the live music area near the back in front of a very large window. At least we had a view of the crazy streets of Vegas.
Slowly, the tables inside of the music area were completely filled to the brim, every single table outside of it and the bar was too. I've only been here once but, I wouldn't imagine a small business like this would be packed like this on a Sunday.
Eventually, a waitress finally came up to us to start taking our order.
"Hey guys! My name is Katherine and I'll be your server this evening. Can I get you all started with a drink?" Our waitress asked.
"I'll take a water." Lia said to Katherine.
Jason chuckled before he spoke up.
"Well, I'll have a draft." He said.
"Yeah, I'll just take a water." I smiled at Katherine.
Lia chuckled, "What? No more alcohol?" She asked chuckling.
"Not for awhile." I laughed
"Okay, I'll get those right out to you." Katherine said happily before walking away.
