Chapter 18

Jamie's P.O.V.

After I left Y|n to the hospital, I went back to the hotel. I couldn't stop thinking about her. I knew that sooner or later they will get her and it's all my fault.

I entered my room and sat on the bed, calling Ellie's parents. I told them what happened and they said that they're very sorry for Y|n. She was like a sister for Ellie and a second daughter for her parents.

After I ended the call I laid down and tried to get some sleep but all I could think about was Y|n. I realised that I wouldn't be able to sleep so I texted Saskia:

-Come to my room.

5 minutes later, Saskia and I were staying on the floor face to face.

-I need you to tell me exactly what happened and why is this guy so desperate to get revenge.

After she told me everything, we started to work on a plan.

Our priority at the moment was to get to the airport. We needed to get to Maradova. Anastasia's mum was there too. Fotunately, she was able to leave as soon as we were attacked.

-First of all, we need to talk with the pilot. He needs to be ready to leave immediately. We can't afford another attack because we'll be in open field. Once we get there, we'll have the necessary resources to fight.

She nodded.

-What about Y|n? We can't leave her here.

I sighed and looked away from her.

-She's hurt. She needs medical attention. She would only slow us down.

-How can you say that?! She is your girlfriend! Jamie, we can't leave her behind! She is alone and scared right now in a place she doesn't know!

I got up.

-And what do you want me to do about that, huh?! We can't take her with us, why can't you understand?! She is hurt! She would be in pain the whole time! I hate myself for having to leave her behind but it's the only way for us to be safe! She said it herself: she would only slow us down!

-Yes, she said that so we would really believe that she'll be ok! She was acting, couldn't you see?! If you want to leave, fine. Take the girls and leave but I'm not leaving without Y|n!

She got up and left.

I was shocked about Saskia's outburst. She is usually very calm and there aren't many things that can annoy her.

I sat on the bed and sighed. I couldn't believe what I just said. How could I say that about Y|n? She is my girlfriend. Saskia was right. I needed to stop thinking as a partisan and start thinking as a human. I got up and grabbed my phone from the nightstand. I texted Y|n:

-Hey, baby. I know you had surgery. How are you feeling?

10 minutes later she answered:

-You shouldn't have texted me, babe. What if they are tracking our phones?

-Don't worry. They can't do that. I took care of it.

-Ok. I'm fine. They said I should've come immediately to the hospital but fortunately it wasn't too late. I'll have to rest a few days and I'll be ok.

-Good. Listen, we're going to leave the country. And you have to come with us. We will wait a few days for you to recover and we'll leave.

-No! You can't wait for me you need to leave before they find you. Leave me. I'll be fine.

-Stop being stubborn, baby. I said you're coming with us and that's final.

-Jamie...

-There's no point in arguing with me, Y|n. You're not going to win this and you know it.

-Babe, listen to me. This is not about us. Your job is to protect Ellie no matter what. If you'd ever have to choose between me and her you know who to pick. I know you love me and you want to keep me safe but sometimes that's not possible. You're a partisan. You need to protect Ellie. Do it for me. I love you, babe.

My eyes widened. No! She can't do this to me!

I ran out of the room heading to the car.

I drove to the hospital and rushed inside. I went to the front desk and asked about Y|n. I was told that after she had surgery she was took by someone who claimed to be her father.

I called Saskia:

-They have Y|n.

-WHAT?!

I told her to take the girls and wait for me infront of the hotel. We needed to leave immediately.
