Chapter 27

Y|n's P.O.V.

Next morning, when I woke up, Jamie was in the bathroom.

-Good morning, babe.

He smiled at me.

-Good morning. How did you sleep?

I shrugged and looked in the sink. It was full of bandages.

-Are these yours?

He nodded.

-Are you hurt?

-No, don't worry. It's just a little scratch.

He showed me his arm so I could see the scratch. It was pretty big and still an open wound.

-That looks serious. You sure you're ok?

He nodded and kissed me.

-What are you doing today?

-I was thinking to go out with the girls.

He nodded.

-Alright. I'll be in the palace today if you need me, yeah?

-Ok.

I kissed him and got out of the bathroom to get dressed.

When I couldn't zip my dress, I called Jamie:

-Babe?

-Yeah?

-I need a little help.

-Do you want me to come in?

-Mhm...

He entered and smiled.

-What is it, baby, you can't zip your dress?

-My hands are not that long.

He nodded and came behind me. After he zipped my dress he kissed my neck while hugging me from behind.

-You're beautiful.

I blushed.

-Thank you...

I turned around and kissed him.

-See you later!

-Bye!

I left and went to Ellie's room only to find her crying.

-Ellie?

She quickly wiped away her tears and put a fake smile on her face.

-Hi, Y|n! You ready to go?

-Yeah, but...

-Great! Give me a moment. I'm going to the bathroom, I'll be right back!

She wanted to walk past me to go to the bathroom but I grabbed her arm, stopping her.

-No, we're not doing this, come here.

I dragged her to the bed and we sat down.

-Now, why were you crying?

-Umm, I...

She hesitated a few seconds and said:

-I'm nervous.

-For what?

-Well, in a few months I'll be the queen...This is a big responsibility and I don't know if I'm ready for it.

-Ellie, you've been preparing for this since I've known you...I'm sure you'll be a good queen.

Right then, Anastasia came in.

-Hey, are you...

She stopped when she saw Ellie's face.

-Ok...What happened?

After 20 minutes, Saskia came in and stopped in her tracks when she saw the state Ellie was in.

-Ellie? Why are you crying?

She took her phone out and texted someone before walking over to Ellie.

2 minutes later, the door opened and Jamie came in.

-What...

He looked at Ellie.

-Ellie? What happened?

When he got no answer, he looked at me:

-What happened, baby?

I looked at Ellie. Jamie understood and nodded at me before sitting next to her.

-Ellie, what's going on?

I got up and took Anastasia's hand.

-Let's go. They need to talk.

I looked at Saskia.

-Come on.

She nodded and we got out of the room.

-What was that about?

Anastasia sighed.

-It's...Complicated.

Anastasia looked at me and I shrugged.

-Let's go to my room.

We went to Anastasia's room and told Saskia what happened.

She nodded and said:

-Ellie is right: this is a big responsability. But do you know what's the most important thing?

We both looked at her.

-You are surrounded by people who love you and who will guide you through this experience.

Anastasia smiled.

-You're right. But I wish I knew what Ellie was feeling earlier.

Saskia hugged her.

-Jamie is with her. He can calm her down better than any of us.

Two hours later, I quietly entered in Ellie's room only to see her sleeping, with Jamie next to her, holding her hand.

Jamie looked at me and I smiled. He whispered:

-Are you going out with the girls?

I shook my head.

-We're going to the pool.

He smiled and nodded. I kissed his cheek and got out of the room.

-How is she?

-She's asleep. Jamie is with her.

The girls nodded and we left.
