Y|n's P.O.V.

After a few hours of talking with Anastasia and Ellie about what will happen next, I was finally free to go to my dorm.

When I opened the door, I was surprised to see Jamie on the bed, waiting for me.

-Hey, babe...

-Hi, beautiful...You look tired.

I walked over to him and sat in his lap, putting my arms around his neck.

His arms circled my waist and brought me closer to him.

-Jamie?

He looked down at me.

-Yes, baby?

-What are you thinking about?

-What?

I sighed.

-Something is bothering you. I can feel it...What's wrong?

He looked away from me.

-Whenever you're ready, babe.

I put my head on his chest and waited for him to tell me.

Jamie's P.O.V.

I sighed, not knowing how to tell her this.

I wasn't used to opening up to people. But then I remembered what Saskia said: I need to learn how to open up. At least in front of Y|n. She was my girlfriend and I could trust her.

I took a deep breath and said:

-That day, after I took you to the hospital, I panicked. I was scared for you, for the girls, for everyone. I told Saskia to come to my room so we could make a plan. I was so desperate to get out of there, that I said something I shouldn't have.

-What did you say?

She wasn't looking at me and I was grateful for that. Her head was on my chest and her eyes were closed.

-For a second, I seriously considered to leave you there...I'm so sorry, I don't know how I could even think about something like that...

She slowly lifted her head to look at me but I forced myself to look at the wall behind her, scared of her reaction.

-Babe, look at me.

Her tone was gentle, without any sign of anger.

I looked at her and was surprised to see that she was smiling.

-Why are you feeling guilty about it? You did nothing wrong. You kept your promise to me, even though I'm sure that wasn't your intention.

-No, what I did was wrong.

-I'm not mad at you.

I opened my mouth to apologise again but then realised what she said.

-Wait, what?

-I'm not mad at you. If it wasn't for you, I would still be with him now. You came for me.

-Of course I did. I love you.

-And that's exactly why you thought that way then. You knew I was injured and needed medical attention, so you preferred to keep me alive even if it meant leaving me on my own. You did the best you could, Jamie...And I love you too.

I couldn't believe how lucky I was that this girl was my girlfriend. She was so understanding!

I kissed her and said:

-It's your turn now.

She looked at me confused.

-Earlier you told me you wanted to talk about something, remember?

-Mhm...

-So...What is it?

She didn't say anything.

-It's ok...Take your time.

She nodded. After a few minutes of silence she said:

-My aunt will make an official announcement telling everyone that I am a member of the royal family.

I nodded.

-Alright...Is there something wrong with that?

She shrugged.

-Everything will change for me, Jamie...You know I don't like to be in the spotlight. And my anxiety doesn't help either...

I sighed and rubbed her arms.

-Your identity doesn't have to be public if you don't want to. Besides, you'll have a partisan just like Ellie and Anastasia.

She looked at me and shook her head.

-I don't want a partisan.

I chuckled.

-Baby, those are the rules.

-But why do I need a partisan if my identity won't be public?

I sighed.

-Because, every member of the royal family has one.

She groaned and nodded.

-Ok...

I kissed her head and we stayed in silence for a few seconds before she asked:

-What will happen to you and Saskia after Ellie and Anastasia will ascend the throne and will no longer need you?

-We will be assigned to new heirs to the throne who need a partisan.

She yawned as I smiled.

-Come on, you need to go to sleep.

She sighed and got up from my lap, going to the bathroom to change her clothes.

When she came back, I kissed her forehead and she hugged me.

-Where are you going?

-I'll be back later, alright? Do you think you can fall asleep on your own?

-Mhm...

-Ok.

She kissed me and laid in bed, covering herself with the blanket.

I smiled softly and got out of the room.
