Chapter 21

Jamie's P.O.V.

It's been two weeks since I last had Y|n in my arms. We eventually made it to Maradova but everything was so messed up: Anastasia and her mum were still shocked about the fact that Y|n was their cousin/niece, Ellie was worried for her and on top of that, Saskia is blaming me for Y|n's current situation.

After I saw Y|n this morning, I locked myself in my room. I couldn't believe how skinny she was. Her father told me that she refused to eat and talk for the last two weeks.

She didn't even look at me today. But I don't blame her. After all, she got kidnapped by her own father who was supposed to be dead.

I did some digging and found out that her dad faked his death with the help of a few servants that were undercover in Anastasia's palace. Turns out they had been loyal to him for a few years now.

I tried tracking our video call today but all I could get was their general location. That was enough for me.

I got up from the desk and went to look for Saskia. I found her talking with Anastasia in the garden.

-Can I talk to you for a second? It's about Y|n.

She sighed and nodded. Anastasia said:

-I'll be in my room.

I smiled and she offered me a little smile back before leaving.

-So?

I sighed.

-This morning I was contacted by
Y|n's kidnapper. Or should I say her father?

Her eyes widened.

-What?! So...It's true?

I nodded.

-Unfortunately. But I have a plan to get her back.

-Alright, what do you need help with?

I sat down next to her and said:

-All I could get was their general location.

She got up.

-What do you need me to do?

-For him to really believe that I'm going to help him, I need you to be there. It will be more realistic if someone from the court is there. I'll make him believe that you are on our side and that you are willing to betray the queen.

She nodded.

-Now let's go get Y|n back!
